This four-star hotel was transformed into a scene from Frozen - when the water in its 6ft fountain froze solid as the icy blast transformed it into a jaw-dropping ice sculpture. Guests were thrilled when they spotted the 'movie-like' feature outside Dean Park Hotel in Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland,.
After temperatures plummeted to a bone-chilling -2 degrees, the water fountain looked like it had encountered Disney queen Elsa - who accidentally zaps items into ice. In a cheeky nod to this, marketing and events co-ordinator Ross Frantz posed an Elsa doll next to the fountain as it remained frozen solid.
The scene, also likened to CS Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia, was caused by the water shooting out of the glass bowl feature freezing, along with drops of water freezing and transforming into icicle fringing.
Ross, from Kirkcaldy, Fife, said: "It looks like something out of Narnia, it was crazy to see. Lots of guests were stopping by to take pictures. It's very striking, you can see it frozen - including the icicles hanging from it.
"Guests think it looks amazing. They keep commenting [on it saying] things like Narnia and Elsa from Frozen is the culprit, everyone's saying it looks like something out of a movie."
