Trafalgar Square’s only pub has reopened after closing due to a devastating fire last year.
The Admiralty is again serving pints following a complete refit, with new artwork, dining booths, and paintwork over the venue’s three floors.
The owner, Fuller’s, said the pub has been converted to run on electricity alone following the refurbishment and is powered completely by a zero carbon energy source.
CEO Simon Emeny said: “I am delighted to be reopening the doors of The Admiralty. The fire was devastating, and we can’t thank our team and the London Fire Brigade enough. But it is great to see this wonderful site back open for business.
“It’s the total embodiment of everything that’s great about a Fuller’s pub.”
The Admiralty closed in July 2022 after a fire. More than 100 firefighters were called to put out the blaze.
To celebrate the reopening, London Fire Brigade deputy assistant commissioner Greg Ashman, and firefighters from Soho fire station, came to help Mr Emeny cut the ceremonial ribbon.
The Admiralty will be managed by Matt Cooper, who previously oversaw The Hydrant in Monument.
Food, meanwhile, will be looked after by head chef Jon Pellew, and is based on pub classics and pies.
Mr Cooper said: “I am so excited to be opening the doors of The Admiralty. The pub is iconic and its presence has been missed.”
