'Iconic' former bank in affluent village on the market

A former bank which has been transformed into a stunning home has gone on the market in an affluent Merseyside village.

The building known as 'The Old Bank' is on Lower Alt Road in Hightown and has been transformed into a sumptuous four-bedroom, three-bathroom home. The house is on the market with Purplebricks for £675,000. The Zoopla listing hails the house as "extremely unique" and said it's just "a short walk to the beach".

The period building dominates a corner plot in the coastal suburb, with a generous wraparound front garden. There are three floors of accommodation, including an old cellar which has been transformed into a utility room.
