Mexican film director Guillermo del Toro has been in Edinburgh recently scouting for new filming locations and has given one pub in particular a shout-out after likening their theme to his newest movie.
The 58-year-old, known for directing Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy and Nightmare Alley, recently uploaded a picture of himself in the city centre last week, saying he was on the lookout for potential filming locations.
As most will know, the capital is no stranger to paying homage to several blockbuster movies in recent years, with the likes of The Avengers, Fast and Furious and The Lost King all being filmed in the city.

On Saturday, the director snapped another selfie with a poster for Frankenstein Pub in the background, advertising their speed quiz night. Del Toro, who was recently announced as director of the live action film Frankenstein, sought fit to share the picture on Twitter.
Captioning the post: "One week into scouting stumbled upon a friend (?), it would be no surprise to see del Torro making a trip to the famous Edinburgh bar and restaurant in the not too distant future.
Frankenstein the movie, which del Toro is set to direct and write, will reportedly feature the likes of Andrew Garfield, Oscar Isaac, and Mia Goth, as well as be available for streaming on Netflix.
Following Guillermo's recent tweet and shout-out to Frankenstein Pub, fans were quick to reply and recommend a visit to the pub on George IV Bridge.
One said: "When I saw where you were I was like please please please stumble across this pub, because that would be hella ironic."
Another added: "That’s such a fun bar, you need to be in there close to midnight. Frankenstein lowers from the ceiling in his cage, lightning and sparks bring him to life, it’s nuts. Seriously."
