Iceland shoppers praise 'unreal' new range of £4 meals that will save money on takeaways

Iceland shoppers have hailed a new range of meals available in stores and online as a cheaper and healthier alternative to takeaways that are just as tasty.

The frozen food supermarket has just launched an exclusive MyProtein range, containing 15 different dishes that come fully prepared and only need to be put in the microwave for a few minutes to be ready to eat. With prices ranging from £3.50 to £6 for breakfast, lunch and dinner options, the range is designed to be high in protein and low in calories without compromising on flavour.

Dishes include classic takeaway favourites such as Singapore-style noodles, salt and pepper chicken skewers, beef pasta Bolognese, chicken tikka with rice, and pulled pork mac and cheese. And the meals have already racked up several five-star reviews from shoppers on the Iceland website, with a deal currently running which means 10 meals in the range plus chicken skewers can be picked up for £45.

There are 15 different dishes available in the new range costing between £3.50 and £6 (Iceland)

The new range is part of a five-year partnership between Iceland and MyProtein, which in the future is also set to include pizzas and ice creams that are "nutritionally balanced". Iceland is known for teaming up with popular food brands and restaurants, also offering exclusive ranges from the likes of Greggs, Cathedral City, TGI Fridays and Yo! Sushi.

After an Iceland customer discovered the meals in store and shared them in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, the post soon racked up hundreds of comments from people keen to pick some up in their next shop. "I've got to try these," one person vowed.

"These look so good, I'm going to have to get some," another said.

A third fan eyeing up the new collection, who is also an Iceland employee, said on Twitter: "13 years of working for Iceland, I don't think I've ever been so excited for a new range!"

Meanwhile, someone who had already tried out some of the dishes said: "The mac and cheese and peri peri chicken are unreal!"
