Iceland has issued an important message to shoppers after the supermarket has seen a major increase in sales of its Furocity Energy drinks this week. It comes as customers have been rushing to purchase the Prime rival following a scathing social media video from Tyson Fury’s father, John Fury.
The heavyweight champion’s corner man was filmed spitting out KSI and Logan Paul’s rival energy drink Prime last week, labelling it ‘grotesque’.
In the video post, The Gypsy King’s father said that Prime ‘smelt shocking’, urging shoppers to buy his son’s Furocity range instead.
He told shoppers that “Furocity is the one you want, at least it tastes right,” and that “you couldn’t pay me a fiver to drink that [Prime]”.
Following the video, which was posted to John’s Instagram account, the frozen food specialist supermarket has reported sales of the Furocity range increasing by as much as 303 per cent as the heat ramps up between the two rival brands.
Now, the supermarket has asked shoppers to ‘remain patient’ as the retailer works to get cans of Furocity Energy back in stock.
An Iceland spokesperson said: “We’re doing everything we can to keep up with the huge demand we’ve been seeing for Furocity Energy drinks in recent days, following John Fury’s video post.
“We would ask shoppers to please remain patient as we work hard to get cans of Furocity Energy back on our shelves.”
The energy drink does appear to be in stock online, though, available in four flavours, including sour apple and sour cherry. The collection also include a range of ice pops and ‘energy gum’.
Two pieces of the gum contains the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee and are said to be ‘high in vitamin B6 to help with tiredness and fatigue’.
You can shop the Furocity range at Iceland here, with prices starting from £1.
