Iceland, Morrisons and Tesco recall as customers warned of safety concerns

A number of products have been recalled by various supermarkets, due to a host of safety concerns.

Tesco, Morrisons and Iceland have all issued warnings to customers, urging them to return the affected items, reports Chronicle Live. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) - the Government department responsible for food safety across the UK -published the warnings on their website amid possible safety fears.

The latest list of food warnings have been issued over pasta sauce, chocolate, ravioli and a dessert bar. Read on below to see more details about these products, and return them if you find any lurking in a cupboard in your home.

Morrisons Tomato and Chilli Pasta Sauce

Morrisons has issued a warning to customers to return their own-brand Tomato and Chilli Pasta Sauce as it contains milk - which is not mentioned on the label.

This means that the item is now a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents. The product also contains pepperoni which is not on the ingredients list.

The product details are as follows:

Pack size: 350g

Use by: January 25, 2023

The FSA has stated that Morrisons is recalling the above product from customers and have been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.

These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.

Morrisons have advised to customers to return the product to the store where it was bought, for a full refund.

Whitakers Lime and Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Inclusions Bar

Whitakers Chocolates are recalling their Lime and Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Inclusions Bar, due to its contamination of milk - which is not mentioned on the label.

This inclusion of milk means the chocolate is a possible health risk to those intolerant or allergic to milk, or similar dairy products.

The product details are as follows:

Pack size: 90g

Batch code: 1209, 1210 and 2076

Best before: July 2023 and August 2023

According to the FSA website: "Whitakers Chocolates is recalling the above product from customers and have been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.

"The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product."

Whitaker Chocolates has told customers to return the bar to the store where it was bought for a full refund.

Wicked Kitchen Spinach & Wild Garlic Ravioli

Tesco is recalling Wicked Kitchen Spinach & Wild Garlic Ravioli due to the fact that it may contain small pieces of metal - making it unsafe to ingest.

The product details are as follows:

Pack size: 250g

Use by: 12 January 2023

The company has also issued a recall notice to its customers.

These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tells them what to do if they have bought the product.

Tesco has asked its customers to return the product with a receipt for a full refund. For further information, you can contact Tesco Customer Services on 0800 505 555.

Mars Dessert Bar

Iceland Foods are recalling their Mars Dessert Bar due to a packaging error, some packs have been incorrectly packed with a Snickers Dessert Bar instead.

The Snickers version contain peanuts and egg, not mentioned on the Mars label.

Therefore, the bars may pose a health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts and/or an allergy or intolerance to egg.

The product details are as follows:

Pack size: 600g

Best before: 23 February 2024

Iceland Foods is recalling the above product from customers and have contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.

The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.
