Award-winning US rock band The Fray are bringing their Summer of Light Tour to Lake Macquarie and releasing their first new album in more than a decade.
The multi-platinum-selling band rose to prominence in the early 2000s with a soul-searching alt-rock sound and breakout single How to Save a Life which spent 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and featured on ABC's Emmy-winning series Grey's Anatomy.
The band's 2005 debut album How to Save a Life remains one of the best-selling digital debuts of all time.
The Fray will perform at Speers Point Park on Saturday, February 13, with support from Bastille, Dashboard Confessional, Killing Heidi and Little Birdy.
Presale tickets are on sale at 10am on Tuesday, September 15, and general public ticket sales from 10am on Thursday, September 17.
The Fray's new album, A Light That Waits, is released on March 13.
"We had such an incredible time touring in Australia in 2025. The energy from those crowds was unbelievable," The Fray's vocalist and guitarist Joe King said.
"To come back and be able to share A Light That Waits alongside the songs fans have grown up with -and to have our long-time friends Dashboard Confessional with us - is going to be unforgettable."
Also, Australian rockers Icehouse are kicking off their Man of Colours 40th anniversary tour in Newcastle next June.
Man of Colours was released on September 21,1987, and was the band's fifth studio album. The release spent 11 weeks at the top of the charts in Australia, selling more than 1 million copies and earning ARIA Awards for album of the year and highest selling album.
The album included five of the band's biggest hits: Crazy, Electric Blue, Man of Colours, My Obsession and Nothing Too Serious.
Icehouse will play all the songs on the album plus hits such as Great Southern Land, Hey Little Girl, No Promises, Don't Believe Anymore, Love In Motion and We Can Get Together.
"The band and I are excited to be celebrating the Man of Colours anniversary with you all. We've never played some of the songs from the album so this tour is going to include some firsts for us as well as our fans," frontman Iva Davies said.
"These seated, indoor shows are going to be different for the band and the audiences, too.
"Compared to the big outdoor shows we've mainly been playing over the past 15 years, indoors means we get to play more songs and create an even bigger show for us all.
"These are going to be very, very special shows in celebration of our best-known album, its songs and the fans who've made it a part of their lives over the past 40 years. See you there!"
Tickets to the Man of Colours tour will go on sale at 11am on Friday, September 18. A PayPal First Access Presale starts at 11am on Wednesday, September 16.
Special guests on all shows will be announced in the coming months.
