Newly published video reportedly filmed by ICE agent Jonathan Ross seemingly shows the confrontation that led to a deadly encounter with Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis.
The footage from Ross’ phone, obtained by Minnesota’s Alpha News, shows him getting out of his own vehicle and circling Good’s car while being heckled by another protester. He also interacts briefly with Good, who tells him “that’s fine dude, I’m not mad.”
Ross approaches the front of Good’s vehicle before the footage cuts away as he draws his gun and fires three times into the vehicle. An officer is heard on the video exclaiming “f*** b****,” as the car drives away.
She was pronounced dead a short time later and her death has sparked outrage across the nation.
Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey defended his use of expletives in the aftermath of the shooting, telling reporters Friday: "I dropped an F-bomb... They killed somebody. Which one of those is more inflammatory?”
The mayor also disputed claims by the Trump administration, including Vice President JD Vance, that Ross, had been injured during the altercation.

‘You’re almost inducing a shooting’: Former officers break down what went wrong in Minneapolis
01:25 , Alex WoodwardDonald Trump’s administration has repeatedly claimed that a federal officer who fatally shot Renee Good in Minnesota was justified, alleging that the 37-year-old mother of three was a “violent rioter” who intentionally used her car to ram the agent in an act of “domestic terrorism.”
The officer, who has been identified as Jonathan Ross, fired three shots because he feared for his life, according to administration officials.
But former Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers and police misconduct experts dispute the administration’s insistence that the use of deadly force was justified and questioned the officer’s behavior.

Arizona Senator questions ICE agent's training
21:32 , Mike BediganArizona Senator Ruben Gallego has questioned the training of the ICE agent who fatally shot Renee Nicole Good, pointing out that he had been holding his cell phone in one hand when unloading his gun.
“When did it become proper weapons handling to have your cell phone in one hand and your gun in the other?” Gallego wrote on X, in response to a post by JD Vance.
“No law enforcement ever trains to get in front of vehicle and why did he continue to shoot even after she drove away. A US citizen died and the VP is trying to justify it.”

Trump suggests bystander in Minneapolis was 'paid agitator'
20:57 , Mike BediganDonald Trump has suggested that a bystander in Minneapolis, who shouted “shame!” at ICE agents following the shooting of Renee Nicole Good, may have been a “paid agitator.”
"I watched that yesterday, and there are a lot of lot of different forms to it, but there was a woman screaming, shame, shame, shame, shame,” the president told reporters Friday.
“She was a agitator, probably a paid agitator, but in my opinion, she was an agitator, a very high level agitator, so professional, she wouldn't stop screaming. I said, this isn't a normal situation.
“This is a professional troublemaker, because you heard it and I had it... She was so loud and so crazy and just not normal. When somebody sees something like that, they don't go screaming and screaming and the same words.
“So I guess you could say professional, but I didn't think she did a very good job. You have agitators, and we will always be protecting ice and we're always going to be protecting our border patrol and our law enforcement."

Ilhan Omar slams JD Vance's attack on Renee Good
19:48 , Eric GarciaRep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota slammed Vice President JD Vance's attacks on Renee Good, telling The Independent he is “unfit to be vice president of this country.”
On Thursday, Vance called Good's killing by an ICE officer a "tragedy of her own making,” accusing the 37-year-old of accelerating her vehicle to attack the officer later identified as Jonathan Ross.
"It is disgusting," Omar said. "She was shot in the face, not just once, not twice, but three times. There is no humanly justification on what that ice agent did to Renee and the horror that her children and her family will have to live with."
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem also accused Good of "domestic terrorism" and said Ross was "surrounded" despite video evidence showing the contrary." Vance spent Thursday heckling the press and accusing the media of putting law enforcement at risk.
But Omar disputed this.
"He is disgusting," she told The Independent. "He is unfit to be a vice president of this country, and it is unacceptable for him to describe her that way and to say that it was her fault that she was murdered in broad daylight."

ICYMI: ICE agent involved in shooting previously dragged by car
17:24 , Mike BediganJonathan Ross, the ICE agent who fatally shot a 37-year-old mom-of-three in Minneapolis Wednesday, was dragged and injured by a fleeing driver in a separate incident last year, The Minnesota Star Tribune reported.
Ross was previously dragged by a fleeing suspect during the arrest of Roberto Carlos Munoz-Guatemala, a Mexican citizen, in Bloomington, Minnesota, in June 2025.
Munoz-Guatemala, who had previously been convicted of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and was on a detainer, ignored ICE agents’ commands, prompting Ross to break open a window of his car and try to unlock the door.
Munoz-Guatemala then accelerated, dragging Ross roughly 300 feet before he was “knocked” from the car. As a result of the incident, Ross needed 20 stitches on his arm and 13 more on his hand, according to court documents seen by the Tribune.
Munoz-Guatemala was later convicted of assaulting an officer.

15:58 , Mike BediganJacob Frey has said that vice president JD Vance’s suggestion that the ICE agent responsible for Wednesday’s shooting has “absolute immunity” is “pretty bizarre.”
Speaking to reporters Thursday, Vance said: “The precedent is very simple: You have a federal law enforcement official engaging in federal law enforcement action — that’s a federal issue. He is protected by absolute immunity. He was doing his job.”

ICE agent 'was not injured' says Minneapolis mayor
15:44 , Mike BediganMinneapolis mayor Jacob Frey said that the agent responsible for Wednesday’s fatal shooting was “not injured” during the incident, contrary to the claims of the Trump administration.
“Don't take my word for it. Don't take their word for it. Watch the video from every single angle,” he said.
“I mean, the ICE agent walked away with a hip injury that he might as well have gotten from closing a refrigerator door with his hips. He was not injured.”
He added: “I've seen worse injuries from doing that, and so give me a break. No, he was not ran over. He walked out of there with a hop in his step.”
Mayor Jacob Frey defends his 'F-bomb'

"I dropped an F-bomb... They killed somebody. Which one of those is more inflammatory? I'm going with the killing somebody."
At a press conference earlier this week Frey addressed ICE agents in Minneapolis directly, telling them to “get the f*** out” of the city.
'ICE is making our city less safe,' says Minneapolis mayor
15:35 , Mike BediganMayor Jacob Frey accused federal agents of making Minneapolis less safe, telling reporters “they are clearly driving crime up.”
“Our city is safe. Our city is welcoming. They are making it less so, and so it is a massive issue that they continue to exert their presence in Minneapolis and beyond,” Frey said.
“By the way, it's not just our city that is feeling the impact. I know that there are a number of legislators behind me that can speak to that.”
‘Fifty percent of the shootings this year in Minneapolis have been ICE,’ says Frey
15:18 , Joe SommerladMayor Jacob Frey said just now that the killing of Renee Good was the city’s second gun death of the year, meaning the federal immigration crackdown has inadvertently doubled the number of fatalities.
The mayor has since been joined by state lawmakers who are making emotional appeals for justice on behalf of the slain mother-of-three.
