The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency has been provided $75 billion under President Donald Trump's 2025 spending law, but remains without a Senate-confirmed director after the White House withdrew its latest nominee on 17 September.
The White House withdrew the nomination of Lance Schroyer, a former Oklahoma state trooper and senior adviser to Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin. The move leaves David Venturella performing the duties of ICE director while the administration considers its next nominee.
