A lorry skidded off a road in Dublin this morning as motorists faced dangerous driving conditions.
Temperatures reached -6C last night in some parts of the country, and Dubliners were hit with icy roads this morning. As a result of the treacherous conditions, a lorry slid off the road in north Dublin.
Firefighters and paramedics from Swords, Balbriggan and Phibsborough were called to the scene. The driver of the lorry was pinned to their seat by the steering wheel, and emergency services had to help remove him.

Dublin Fire Brigade tweeted a photo from the accident and warned motorists to take care during the cold snap.
"Firefighter/Paramedics from Swords, Balbriggan and Phibsborough extricated the driver of a HGV after it slid off the road this morning. The steering wheel pinned the driver to their seat.
"Take extreme care on the roads, particularly shaded or untreated secondary roads."
The cold snap is set to continue until Friday, with Met Eireann predicting temperatures to drop to -10C in parts of Ireland. Tonight Dublin will see more frost and ice with temperatures dipping to -3C.
