Pat Cummins said a victory against arch-rival England will be sweeter than usual for Australia, especially if it tightens his team’s hold onto the World Cup semifinals.
“It [a win] helps our chances to get into the semifinals. It has been an old rivalry so it’s probably a little bit sweeter than beating other teams,” Cummins said ahead of their match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.
Without the services of star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who suffered a concussion after falling from a golf cart, Cummins voiced his opinion in favour of a larger squad for World Cups.
