NEW DELHI: The ICC Board has put forward a proposal to modify the tenure of its Chair and Independent Director from the current three terms of two years each to two terms of three years. If the members approve this recommendation, it would result in a significant change in the leadership structure of the organization.
If the proposed changes are implemented, BCCI secretary Jay Shah, who is set to assume the role of ICC chief on December 1 this year, would lead the global cricket body for a period of three years. Following this initial term, he would have the opportunity to seek a second three-year term, subject to the approval of the board.
