GM, I like your choice of opening music | GM Gary! Moving to the UPbeat this morning. Scott |
Can we short META? | Anon - I'm not finding the "META" ticker on MarketSmith . . . Scott |
Hey Dave, yesterday you recommended a book you were reading now. What was the name again? | Rick - not sure if Dave is in Dark Ops this morning. You can pull up the posted video from yesterday and run through it. I thought I had written it down; I'll see if I can find it. Scott |
Goood Morning IBD Live! Very grateful to be here with you, Coaches. | Moorning Shane! Good to "hear" you this morning! Scott |
GM! I'm dancing at my desk. Love that music | Susan - I'm tapping my toes, and bouncing in my chair! Scott |
Good morning All. Great panel | Rajiv - it is a great panel today! Should be a good discussion for sure! Scott |
Morning all. Thoughts on HAL. Thanks | Steven - HAL (Halliburton Co) in the Oil&Gas-Field Serv group (13/197) has double digit Sales and EPS growth; currently extended from a Stage 2 Cup base of 11 weeks with BP of 26.85. Earning recently did not impress the market; in this "Market in Correction", best to not invest in HAL. Just my opinion. Thanks, Scott |
Likewise, Scott! | :) :) :) |
GM team! KBR had surprise earnings. Any thoughts on this one? | Roger - KBR (K B R Inc) is in a Buy Zone from a Stage 4 Consolidation base of 8 weeks; best to probably watch during the early going today to see how the market responds. If it shows strength early & continues, could enter a small position; in my opinion. Scott |
Good Morning | Mohamad - welcome back today! Good morning!! Scott |
MS enhancement idea - when hovering over EPS marker & Earnings box come up - it would be helpful to have an annontation for BMO or AMC to help judge stock moves. | Please submit your idea to marketsmith@investors.com, thank you! |
Good morning everyone!! | Good morning Brian! |
would Harold be willing to share his favorite Marketsmith scan? | live answered |
news on $VALE | Mixed earnings report. But VALE seems to be little changed, like other diversified base metal miners. |
HSY has been doing fine for a while in this rough market (chocolate is a natural anti-depressant). Even Tootsie Roll (TR) is holding up above it's 50 day (they just bought a bubble gum factory!). Who needs tech stocks... | Blaine - HSY (Hershey Co) in the Food-Confectionery group (25/197) had a nice earnings report and is gapping up today. It is extended currently from the Stage 3 Flat base of 13 weeks from last fall. Too far extended, in my opinion. Thanks, Scott |
Good morning all!! Unimportant question, what's an impairment charge? TDOC 😳 | An impairment charge is when a company writes down the value of an asset(s) that are worth a lot less//worthless. |
Morning Everyone :) | Good Morning, Francis! |
Ed , not to take away from anyone else but you are simply the best at giving the news, especially during earnings season. | Gary - he does indeed! Scott |
We need to see some capitulation here - just sitting cash here waiting for trrends to start again. Nothing to do here…. | Phil - sometimes it is in the sitting that you make the best gains (in comparison to the amount you could lose). Scott |
How does Cathie Wood still have a job? Can't believe how ARKK has been devasted over the past months, and yet lots of talking heads on TV keep interviewing her, blah, blah. | Michael - only time will tell . . . ! Scott |
could please repeat stock symbol and speak slowly for News | Anon - Ed tries to get as much news into the short time allowed; he does move quickly. You can watch the posted video later today & get all the news and tickers. Thx! Scott |
Justin, could you please explain how you would diffrentiate between a short term rally if the market is oversold in a bear market vs. just an opporutnity for the big money to unload the shares on a day like this? | live answered |
Justin, will you be buying stocks before the follow through day? Also did the s&p have a weak rally day yesterday? | If I see a lot of setups, especially with stocks in groups setting up in unison, I will dabble earlier in anticipation. |
Justin, will you be buying stocks before the follow through day? Also did the s&p have a weak rally day yesterday? | live answered |
choose me... this is a good theory.... altho, don't choose me then dump me the next day | Michael - sounds a little bit like a soap opera romance . . . ! Scott |
Good morning, if the sun doesn't come out, an ENPH battery storage unit may be in order! lol | hat man 2 - yes, indeed! Scott |
I trade calls and was thinking of turning my charts upside down and then buy puts using opposite criteria I use to trade calls....lol | Leslie - big smile on my face, and a chuckle also! Scott |
gap up.. and "little fade".. so "fun" | Peter - a characteristic of a weak market, for sure! Scott |
Cash may be King, but inflation can start a revolution and send the King to the block; what is best vs inflation? Thanks:-) | Dick - good analogy! The other day AAPL (Apple) was mentioned as a possible place to "hide" case. As a long-term leader, the return over time in a solid stock like AAPL is a lot better than the interest in a savings account. Scott |
Visa and Mastercard moved up nicely yesterday- think more to go with these? | live answered |
Ken - what is a"fair amount of cash" - I don't understand. On the call yesterday the team was is cash | As Mike Webster would say on past shows when he was with us, it doesn't matter the exact % that others are invested… you need to do what's right for YOU based on everything you've learned. Knowing exact % invested is tough because team can change on a dime… and isn't able to provide a constant stream of updates to the audience throughout the day every day. We are happy to share info on the show of course. But down to the dollar is very hard. Again, you need to do what's best for you! I hope that helps. |
F was up in afterhours and down now. Thoughts on why? | I don't know. Overnight action doesn't always follow through. |
As a long time holder of TSLA are we using a clse below the 200 day as the ultimate sell signal? | Perhaps a very steep drop below the 200-day line and no immediate recovery would indicate demand in Tesla shares has decreased dramatically and work in the current base is no longer meaningful. If this happens, then selling the position and locking in gains makes sense. Feb. 24 was a critical session; it looked like TSLA was going to completely lose support at/near the 200-day MA, but it reversed positively by day's end. Pls look at NFLX in Jan, and FB from Jan 21 to Feb 3. |
Ken and all, with the can slim philosophy, why would you even consider buying in the midst of a market in cittection | live answered |
Good Morning from South Arkansas!!!!!! | Lane - from MN where it is in the 30s this morning, to South Arkansas - Good Morning! Scott |
Do you use Bollinger Band Squeeze to ID short-term tops and bottoms of bear market rallies? | We do not use Bollinger Bands or any other indicator, we strictly use price and volume action on the S&P 500 and the NASDAQ |
Hi can you point me to where Chris' position risk size calculator is? | Hi there! We have it on our FAQ page at investors.com/LiveFAQ :) |
Justin. Thanks for sharing your experience in detail. It is great lesson in learning. Appreciate it | live answered |
MS question - where can i find futures prices? | No futures quotes on MS, unfortunately, Richard. |
Thanks for the personal anecdote about losing money during the 2000-2003 period, Justin. It really is an important cautionary tale for everyone. | live answered |
I still have a 40% gain in TSLA. Should I sell it all? Part? none? Thank you | Pls see my answer in a separate Q, Barbara; also, you certainly do not want to round-trip that gain. If you lock in most or all of that gain, always remember, you can buy TSLA back in better market conditions. |
What is Ken buying? Thank you very much. | live answered |
COST is violating it's 10 wk. this AM -- please include in today's discussion...... | live answered |
LLY… 3rd stage… ANy concern about this "fact".. | live answered |
CUP 3b(4)… If you can please explain.. what (4) means..?? | Peter - certainly! When two bases are close to each other they get labelled as "a" or "b" or "c". This shows that each base is close in time and price. The number in parenthesis (is the overall absolute base count. In the example you have, it is still kinda in the overall Base 3 area; overall it is the 4th base being counted. Hope that helps! Scott |
During a bear market watching IBD Live is a good way to stay engaged w/o risk of loss. | Blaine - absolutely! Glad to have you today. Scott |
CXM nice set up | Thanks for mentioning this one, Dario. Nice to see it respect the 21, 50-day lines. Up since its Jan report. Would prefer to see a little bit bigger revenue growth in the face of net losses in recent quarters. Revenue grew 19%, 27%, 32%, 30% in past 4 quarters. Chris and I think you'd want to see 50%-plus, as was the case with many winners in 2020 that did not show earnings. But, with the economy slowing, maybe that's a lot harder to accomplish. Let's also see if Composite and RS ratings improve. |
Did TDOC have a 10 foe 1 split? | LOL! Unfortunately not. |
Ed does a superb job reporting the news finishing right at the opening bell. Perfect speed too. | Jeffrey - thanks for your input; we appreciate know how the show is viewed on your end. Scott |
VIVO in medical looks great, what besides the mkt is keeping this from a buy? | Let's see if VIVO can hold the 50-day line, and I'd like to see an upward eps estimate revision. Thanks Dan |
tsla dumping | Phil - OUCH! Wow! Down over 5% so far today - not liking it! My son has a long-term position from a couple years ago, so he has a triple digit gain and a good cushion. AND, we still don't like seeing this kind of move. Scott |
XLU actionable? | Hard to say. Holding above the 50-day line is bullish. It's pulled back into the 5% buy zone after a small double-bottom base breakout near 69. |
I may have missed something but did we have an initial rally day? Seems like yesterdays action was too weak for that. | Anon - I don't think so; not yesterday. We had an intial rally day on Monday, but that was undercut on Tues; so no start to any rally day count yet. Scott |
Seeing failure in some higher industry group rank leaders and hard. IPI is one to note for example.Down %40 in a few days. Will the rest follow and will we see sector rotation? Earnings still pending on a few. CF at it's 50 day, along with MOS, NTR. |
Def worth watching Shane, thanks for the note. |
Any thoughts on why TSLA is falling out of bed this morning? I think I'm going to give up on trying to make $$ on this stock. | Honestly, I don't know. Ford is selling off too following earnings. Both were up modestly premarket. |
Wood added to her position before earnings yesterday | BH2 - not something that I would do as a retail investor; just my opinion. Scott |
TSLA NEEDS A NEW BATTERY (:>) | Anon - getting that new battery into significant production that they have been working would be a good thing! Scott |
I think TDOC may be halted ... it's not moving. | No kidding, ugly loss today, but it looks like it's still trading after the big quarterly net loss; thanks Phil... |
TSLA.. shows sentiment…? | Peter - for TSLA, see my comment in Q&A at 9:50 EST; thanks, Scott |
ORLY having a bad day... | live answered |
Why doesn't IBD talk about support and resistance. Breaking support is a sell signal. | I think we talk about support/resistance frequently. You're right - breaking support is often a sell signal. |
Justin - the lesson is stocks can't go lower than zero, but WE CAN! | That's right, Earl. And we have a number of Nobel Laureates that have blown up funds that needed to be bailed out to prove it. It's not about how smart you are, it's about proper risk management. |
please review ORLY, IT'S DOWN 10%. | live answered |
is VLO too far extended now bouncing off the 10WMA? | Jeffrey - VLO (Valero Energy) in the Oil&Gas-Refining group (18/197) is extended from a Stage 1 Cup w/ Handle base of 31 weeks, with BP of 83.25. The response to the Tues earnings report was strong for one day but today appears to be declining slightly. Not a good time to get in - in my opinion. Scott |
What do you mean - Take some off the table and add some back? Usig daily range to add lower than what you sold at? | Great Q. In general, let's say we are in tough market conditions, such as today. You buy top-rated XYZ at the correct buy point at 100.10. You ride a nice gain of 15% in just a week or two. Then it drops hard. An IBD rule is to never let a 10%+ gain to completely vanish. So you "take some off the table" to reduce the risk of losing all gains. That can damage your investing psychology. Numerous stocks break out, gain 5%, 10%, 15%, then pull back right back to or very near the buy point. Nature of the game. But if the market suddenly strengthens, and XYZ is holding above the 100.10 pivot and within the 5% buy range, then you could consider buying it back. Does this help at all? Dark Ops DSC |
Harold says, "I'm might do a little bit of both," meaning sell into strength as well as add shares. Can you fill that out in more detail, please? How does one do both? Thanks! | Sell some of my shares into strength to lock in profits, then add to the position if its working |
any news on TSLA? I see it is down 5% on higher volume. | I don't see anything. Obviously a lot of selling. Market well off early highs. |
oil and gas is killing me today | Bad US GDP print today indeed, Phil |
Dave's book from yesterday was 100 to 1 in the stock market. Rick asked the name of the book. | Thank you, Darden! I've got it now where I can reference it in the future. Scott |
Could the technical team please talk about key levels to watch today. Were is David Ryan when we need him? | The S&P 500 holding Tuesday's lows is important. |
Harold - so your add can be on a higher price than what you sold but you will add only if you see positive confirmation. Else it will be booking some profit. Hope we got you correctly. | Selling some shares into strength & adding to the remaining position is not a normal strategy for me. For PKG I took some profits but will not add |
ZIM: still under 50 mva. I did a downtrend line. Looks like today if there's volume could look good. Question: would you like better if it over took 50 mva? | Gary - ZIM (Zim Integ Shipping) in the Transportation-Ship group (8/197) looks like it is trying to get some upward momentum. With the vacillation in the stock over the last week or so . . . Yes, I think I myself would wait for the stock to show strength and move above the 50 day line. Scott |
TSLA - what's going on? why is it so down suddenly in last half an hour ????? | Sara - see multiple comments in the answered Q&A; also being discussed now. Thanks, Scott |
Looks like ED may have just opened short position on TSLA this morning | LOL. |
HSY comfort food for hard times | Robert - yes!! We all need some comfort in this market. And a couple of bucks can still be a nice "chocolate bar of comfort". Scott |
is gold moving today? | Right now it's flat, not rebounding after Monday's negative gap-down. I watch GLD for a quick chart view on MS. |
TSLA is making another leg down; down over 5%, towards 800 price level | Jim - just finished talking about this in detail; you can review the video after it is posted later today; and move to the 10:10 am EST time. Thanks, Scott |
Do ya'll know what's going on with TSLA today and these days? Twitter related? | Anon - just finished talking about this in detail; you can review the video after it is posted later today; and move to the 10:10 am EST time. Thanks, Scott |
TSLA really below 200 day average | Jasbir - for TSLA, see multiple entries in the answered Q&A; it was also discussed Live at approx 10:10 EST - so you can review the posted video later today and listen to the discussion again, by going to the 10:10 am EST time spot. Thanks, Scott |
see AZO in sympathy | Exactiment (or exactly in English!), Michael, good eye. Bad round trip in this double-bottom breakout. |
AZO, and the rest of the group? | AAP looks quite bad in the short term, too, Jim. |
Thomas Phelps book 100 to 1 that DSC mentioned yesterday. | Victor - much appreciated! Thank you! Scott |
Is any tsla due to twtr and Elon needing to sell tsla? | That could be a catalyst, but if you put TSLA action in context of April - or from mid-March - and there are a LOT of growth stocks that have performed worse over those spans. TSLA had such a big run in late March and held up reasonably well until this week, so all the selling is coming at once. |
big gap down in AZO this morning. | Has to be ORLY-related. |
TSLA has broken support at 86 | Edward - I think you meant "860". Also, you can review multiple entries in the answered Q&A; it was also discussed Live at approx 10:10 EST - so you can review the posted video later today and listen to the discussion again, by going to the 10:10 am EST time spot. Thanks, Scott |
Harold was those MA 13 and 34 Expo... please | They are both ema |
TSLA down . A Factor could be because Elon is using his TSLA stock as collateral for buying TWTR. | Victor - maybe; the market could be concerned about it; hard to tell. Scott |
in a situation like Tesla, how does one avoid round tripping? | Mark - the way to avoid round tripping is selling the position while you still have a profit. You can always buy back in if/when is shows strength again. Scott |
Harold - are you doing any pure PUTS in this market downtrend? | I have a bearish put spread on S&P futures |
I'm excited about TSLA pulling in here. There is opportunity once more to ride this stock up when it goes! | Shane - yes, that is true - and you need a firm grip on the risk levels you can handle. Scott |
BTU took a big earnings hit, daily chart looks bad, HOWEVER weekly looks ok, its had these kind of corrections. do you feel its still on an uptend on the weekly? would you hold a flat if you are a long term holder and are holding a small flat position. I held it for a few months…with the conviction this may be a long term bull? |
Anon - BTU (Peabody Energy) being discussed now at the 10:24 EST time. Thanks, Scott |
TSLA is down 33% from its high, why would anyone stay in....broke all trendlines | Jeff - my son has a postion from about 4 years ago; he is still up many hundreds of a percent. As a youngster, he can lean on his cushion, having time on his side; until Elon / Tesla really breaks down. Any entry recently should be sold; in my opinion. Scott |
Scott you're very TRANSPARENT!!! THANKS | Juan - thank you for the comment! I consider myself as simply a regular viewer that has been given the very special opportunity to help out with the show! Scott |
TSLA related to twiter event? | Robert - possibly, and really not too sure. There a obviously some funds that are thinking this is the time to exit some of their positions. Scott |
Charles Harris isn't on IBD Live tomorrow? | He had to switch to May |
Other auto stocks down not just TSLA. F GM also down. May be supply chain and or EV battery related. | Tom - good point! TSLA decline today may have more to do with future sales hindrances due to supply chain issues. Scott |
This has been a market where something is always working even if the market goes into a correction since last year february. Is it possible that the market can take out the things that are working eventually? And is that the capitulationwe all are waiting for? |
Rohit - I think you could say that. Until the market shakes out all the weakness, we will probably not see a confirmed uptrend. Scott |
Is the 197 industry group chart that's presented on Mondays only updated once a week? | Yes, correct! :) |
TSLA next support around 762. | Edward - Ouch! That's prettly low - hopefully it bottoms before then. Scott |
Please view BX thanks | Guanqiao - BX (Blackstone, Inc) had a poor response to its earnings report on last Thurs 4/21. Negative Sales and EPS growth during the last quarter; trending lower from the Double Bottom base in January of 10 weeks with BP of 136.56. Not showing strength currently. Thanks, Scott |
Unlike those beaten-down stocks you're mentioning, which reverse early off of favorable earnings reports, MRK (Merck) is climbing out of a perfect cup with handle. Should one sell into its strength, expecting this one to reverse, too? Is the medical group likely to roll over, too? |
Ira - MRK (Merck) is looking not too bad. If I already had a position, I would not sell at this time. It is showing a strong response today from the earnings report. In fact, if it continues to strengthen, I would look at adding to my position when it gets to the BP of 89.58 from the current Stage 1c(3) base of 25 weeks. Just my thoughts if I was in the stock. (And, I may have to consider starting a position if it does move up to the current Buy Zone.) Thanks for bringing MRK to my attention. Scott |
Thanks Dave. I had some cushion so I'm ok | Cheers mate. Some day when I visit BOS I hope we'll meet. Maybe not this year, but maybe next... |
Thoughts on MCD | live answered |
when does a 'miss' become a lie ? | Ah, that's a great Q Charles! I would perhaps make a judgment based on how much institutions take the stock down on some earnings or future news. |
BTU take a look at weekly, it looks much better | While you are right that BTU has made a tremendously bullish move in four months, essentially tripled from 10 to 30+, pls check out the 10-week moving average. BTU found support at or near this technical level in Feb and March, so this week is a character change. Let's watch how it handles this new sell-off; for now, BTU is 12% below the 10-week line, that's an awful lot. |
BTU had massive write downs on hedging activty and debt. The demand is high yet limitation on getting coal moving will catch up in the third quarter. | Nice insight here, James, thanks much. |
MCP - mental cpaital preservation | Thank you! |
The Daily Graphs List is amazing. So glad ya'll went over it with Dr. Ryan earlier this week. I feel like I'm scanning with the "Doctor"! | Shane - keep watching the aLive Show and you will soon earn your Doctor of Market degree also. :) :) Scott |
KBR doesn't do home building. | Right, it's all about large-scale infrastructure: ports, utilities, gas refineries, nuclear power plants, LNG liquefaction facilities, et al. |
Heavy Construction (ig 72) was looking so good a week ago, no more! KBR, FLR, J | live answered |
MCD released earninga this morning. | live answered |
I currently have a subscription to IBD Digital, IBD Live and Marketsmith. I am considering adding Leaderboard. How many of your subscribers have all 3? OR is this overkill | William - Each of our products have their unique characteristics. One of the best features of LeaderBoard is the annotated charts and alerts on a smartphone. The LB staff make decisions of specific stocks in the LB portfolio and you can see when & why on the annotated charts. You can also opt-in for phone alerts, so you can get in and out in parallel with LB. Scott |
Thanks David. Appreciate the clarity you provide! | Glad I could help in a small way. And, Bill O'Neil and his research team found among model growth stocks how 4 out of 10 big winners generally test their pivot points in post-breakout action. I hope to do my own small-scale research on this ratio in recent years. Again, it's likely very dependent on the state of the market, IMHO. |
Sounds good Dave. | Cheers Phil |
What are the odds of AAPL and AMZN getting a good reaction to tonights earnings report? | Oh boy, Brian! Who knows? The market is so finicky. Good reports are met with sell offs and bad reports can be met with buying. It comes down to "expectations" and how the earnings compares to what the 'market' is looking for. Scott |
CDNS looks under accumulatio. Daily Volume and Weekly volume looks strong. Thoughts | Worth a Watchlist slot, Shane, for sure. The four recent down weeks all came in below average trade! |
MCD will have tougher comparison this Q than past … | For sure, Tom, great eye; Q2 profit up 259%, sales up 57% in 2021, due to easy YOY comps vs 2020. Going to take a while to see normalized quarterly results! |
Thanks Scott Stevens, I am always watching IBD Live and getting the panels "take" on everything. | Jim - there's a lot of "total years" in the market when you add them up between all of the Show 'talking heads'. Scott |
UUP has been blasting off in recent days. Is that a sign of a forthcoming recession? | To me this is a global institutional rush to a safe haven asset.... |
I thought you were having Charles as a guest panelist on Friday? | He had to switch to a date in May |
Harolds audio is MUCH better this week! Thanks! | Nice! |
BROS,thks | 84 RS Rating is encouraging. Not undercutting the Feb. low, also good. But still in base-building mode. Don't like how the 10, 21 and 50-day moving averages are bending lower right now. |
thoughts on SLB and OIS in oil space, still good weekly | live answered |
Thoughts on MXL, good earning and outlook. Smallish stock cap though. | Stephen - reaction of earnings today looked strong to begin with, but it is now at the bottom of todays range. Still up 10% from yesterdays close. I would be somewhat concerned since it is not continuing to show strength today. Thanks, Scott |
I feel like owning stocks right now is like walking through a mine field! | Brian - yes, indeed! Tread lightly and carefully. Scott |
LMT I got stopped out | Phil - I find being stopped out of a stock not an easy thing to to handle. I'm always thinking that I could be missing out if it goes back up. AND, too many times when I look back, I realize that the stock continued to move lower and getting stopped out what actually a good thing. Still find it hard to watch while it happens. Scott |
OKE goes ExDiv. tomorrow -- with that in mind would you consider holding an extra day before exiting the position? | Wayne - possibly. I did that with ZIM. However, ZIM has declined enough since the dividend was paid out that I am down more now even with the very strong dividend payout. I would probably stay in, if I had a position in OKE, but be ready to exit if is shows weakness after the payout. Scott |
Scott, the probelm I had, I went back in on IBD FTD in 2009 but never that high in positions sizes....I was in my late 60's, now 78 | Jeff - I'm pretty much in the same position as you! The amount of capital that I could have had . . . if only I had made better decisions earlier in my 'investing career'. Still trying to make some good buys that will show major returns. Scott |
re. HAL - Doesnt it look like a sell to anyone on the panel, regardless of where you bought? Rationale: Lots of sell signals. Big downside volume last 5+ days, highest in weeks, ripped through 21 & 50 MA's (50 MA acting as resistance) and a big downside gap followed by bearish wedging. In this market, boy, sure looks dangerous to me, with another possible large drawdown. |
Lance - feel free to see my comment at 9:21 in the Q&A. Scott |
Harold - appreciate your comments regarding the technicals. I've got to get my eye trained to see this stuff better. Like when you said look at the middle of that base the volume drying up. | live answered |
Market is aweful. I agree with you guys. | Phil - agreed! And this is the time we need to stay engaged! There will be a follow-thru day and we will need to be ready to make our moves early on. Scott |
Mahalo's DSC! | Mahalo, Shane! |
You guys have many years of experience compared to most. Excellent recommendations. | Thanks Phil |
I'm lightly invested | Smart |
Tell the Swing Trader subcribers who are complaining to watch CNBC | Jim - Nice!! Scott |
Have tons of cash on the sidelines | Good man |
Even GLD I had to get out of. | Cutting losses is smart; US dollar rise may be hurting gold more lately. |
Question on SwingTrader - Does the Swing trader subscription look for long or Long and Short opportunities? | Long and short! Three shorts in April, all positive trades |
LLY I sold before earnings with a nice gain so I bought it back | Phil - Good for you! I was stopped out and have not revisited the stock yet. Sounds like I may have missed an opportunity! Scott |
Sems like "Groundhog day" again today. Every Day Tech opens high and closes low and the cyclicals do the proportional opposite, opens low closes high.. | Classic bear market action. Even if we end up having a strong close, it's just one day. |
When I had SwingTrader, I mostly lost money. How can it be far ahead of the s&p? | Could have just been the time you were in. 2021 was a tough year. This year our outperformance has come from being lightly invested. |
Thank you, Scott. How much of a gain are you willing to lose? I know you ddidn't own Tesla, but if you had made 25% when it was over $1000, when would you have cut it loose? | Mark - oh boy! If I hadn't taken some gains when I had a 25% gain, and now it is at declining. Probably sell some to keep a profit. Scott |

Can you please look at KIM? | The breakout has stalled, but for now it's holding the 21-day exponential moving average. I like the 91 RS, rising RS line. Own a small amount of shares in a few accounts. HatMan |
