Ianis Hagi issues Rangers reminder with big Romania moment

Ianis Hagi has sent a reminder of what he's capable of on the pitch to Philippe Clement and the higher-ups at Rangers.

The Ibrox attacker has been frozen out of the first team picture and consigned to the B team after it was made clear he's not part of Clement's plans.

The Scottish Premiership side tried to drum up interest in the 25-year-old during the summer transfer window, but this ultimately fell upon deaf ears as no realistic buyer came calling.

Hagi himself has taken to social media in recent weeks as he vowed to fight for his spot in the team, insisting he has not asked to leave the club.

And in a timely reminder of what he can do on the pitch, Hagi came off the bench last night to win a penalty for Romania as they defeated Lithuania 3-1.

The No.14 received the ball out on the right flank. He drove towards the box until he was confronted by his marker.

Hagi then knocked the ball past the Lithuanian left-back to head towards the byline before he was caught, showing quick feet to get away.

A penalty was awarded by the referee, which his teammate Razvan Marin converted.

Meanwhile, Rangers new boy Nedim Bajrami has been singled out by Albania boss Sylvinho after an impressive display for his country.

Albania came from behind to beat Ukraine in a neutral venue of Prague in their Nations League game and Bajrami was in fine form.

Rangers snapped him up before the transfer deadline from Sassuolo and he could make his debut this weekend away to Dundee United.

And Albania's Brazilian boss Sylvinho was impressed with the Ibrox signing.

He said: "I thought the performance from Nedim Bajrami against Ukraine was outstanding. He is clearly a big talent."
