Ian Wright believes every team in the Premier League will want to play Crystal Palace. Another defeat for the Eagles has placed them in freefall, with no league win in 2023.
The loss to Brighton last Wednesday proved the final straw for chairman Steve Parish, who pulled the trigger on Patrick Vieira after 20 months in charge. Roy Hodgson was appointed as the new manager today and, while Palace are 12th, putting them top of the nine-team mini-league for relegation, they are second bottom of the Premier League’s form table.
Another defeat against Arsenal - combined with having nobody in the dugout - has amplified the alarm bells around Selhurst Park. Wright, who played for both clubs, has given his thoughts on the relegation race.

The ex-Gunners and Palace striker backed Everton to continue their revival under Sean Dyche while praising Leeds United for beating Wolverhampton Wanderers. Speaking to the Kelly and Wrighty show, the 59-year-old appeared to hint at the Eagles being favourites for the drop.
“Everton have that fight about them,” Wright said. “And that’s what matters when you’re down there. Teams are looking at Palace saying ‘let’s play Palace right now’.
“Wolves… you don’t know what you’re getting with them right now. Leeds beat them and that’s going to be an important three points for them.”
