Arsenal legend Ian Wright has provided his latest thoughts on the Premier League title race following the Gunners draw against Liverpool at Anfield. Mikel Arteta's men led for close to 80 minutes on Merseyside before a Roberto Firmino header salvaged a point for the hosts after Mohamed Salah's goal halved Arsenal's lead handed to them by Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus.
Manchester City's win against Southampton, with the returning Erling Haaland netting a brace, closed the gap at the top to five points. Arsenal's draw on the road the following day subsequently means six points now separate the two title rivals.
Two wins is all City are likely to now need to leapfrog Arsenal because of their marginally better goal difference. With a game in hand over Arsenal looming and a clash at Etihad Stadium to come, Pep Guardiola's men would be seen as title favourites if they could defeat the Gunners in Manchester.

However, with City still vying for three competitions, Arsenal could soon find themselves back in the driving seat depending on how the next fortnight develops for the reigning champions. In that two-week period, City face a Champions League quarter-final tie against Bayern Munich, a Premier League clash with Leicester and an FA Cup semi-final meeting with Sheffield United.
Despite there being under eight weeks of the season left, multiple plates continue to spin for Guardiola's side, with many pundits providing their predictions. Gunners legend Ian Wright is the latest ex-professional to offer a fresh verdict and he is adamant that his former team cannot afford to drop any more points because it is highly unlikely their title rivals will.
Speaking on The Kelly and Wrighty Show, via Metro, he said: "Winning the Premier League title is no cakewalk, is it?
"It’s going to be tough – this is the stage of the season where the pressure ramps up. We expect Man City to find their best form but no game is easy because almost every team is still playing for something.
"Arsenal have got to get through this period if they want to win the title – but it’s not going to be easy. Playing Man City will be really tough and they will cause problems but I’m also looking at the Chelsea, Newcastle and Brighton games. Those are the games for me.
"Arsenal need to go into all of those games with belief because that’s what it’s going to take. Can you see Man City lose any games? I’m not sure. I find it very difficult to see Man City dropping any points."
