Ian Wright and Jack Wilshere make Antonio Conte Tottenham future prediction amid top four chase

Arsenal and Tottenham always have something to say about the other, after all, what would a Premier League rivalry be if that was not the case?

Former Arsenal star and current free agent Jack Wilshere had his say on the future of Tottenham manager Antonio Conte after the former Premier League winning manager has experienced a slightly underwhelming start to life at Spurs.

In a recent interview with Talksport, Jack Wilshere suggested that if Spurs are unable to finish top four, or fail to properly support Antonio Conte in the transfer market, then the four time Italian Champion could leave north London.

“If they get Champions League they can recruit Champions League players, if not, they probably can’t.” [...]

When asked directly where if he thinks Conte will be there at the start of next season Wilshere replied promptly:

‘It depends if they finish in the top four. [If they don’t] No.’

Jack Wilshere is not the only former Arsenal star to have their say on the future of Antonio Conte. Ian Wright also suggested that Conte could be on his way out if the situation at Spurs begins to stagnate further.

On his Podcast Wrighty’s House, the Arsenal legend admitted feeling for Conte who, regardless of club affiliation, is clearly caught in the middle of an uncertain time at Tottenham.

"I feel for Antonio Conte because unless they’ve told him in the summer, ‘we’re going to give you everything you want’, I cannot see him staying there. I can’t see it.”

Tottenham are currently treading water in eighth position. However, their three games in hand over West Ham and Manchester United could see the Lily Whites surge into top four contention if they are able to capitalise on those fixtures.

Antonio Conte has the power to change the fortunes of a club over the course of the season having proved that time after time. If Tottenham choose to back him, then Spurs’ fortunes could quickly turn around. If not, then Conte is not the manager to stay for too long.
