Partick Thistle boss Ian McCall has said he will aim to sign three or four more players this transfer window as he dropped a signing hint amid rumours of midfielder Cole McKinnon's arrival.
The Rangers youngster has signed a new deal at Ibrox after impressing in their Lowland League 'B' team and scoring on the final day of Premiership action last season. It's expected though that he will head out on loan and Thistle have been heavily claimed as the club he'll move to, following the likes of fellow Auchenhowie academy products Lewis Mayo and Zak Rudden in completing Firhill transfers.
McCall has already signed Steven Lawless, Harry Milne, David Mitchell, Aaron Muirhead and Jack McMillan as part of his summer recruitment drive and more are expected. Amid the McKinnon rumours the boss, speaking at a special event at Greaves Sports attended by Junior Jags, Thistle’s membership club for young supporters, said: "A midfielder will be in the squad for Tuesday. I won't say who it is yet but a lot of people probably already know it.

"I met a player at Firhill as I think we need another three or four, or three if one can play two positions. We are close to one or two.
"We won't be bringing in another central midfielder as I have promoted Ben Stanway into the first team group. He won't go on loan. He has done really well in the pre-season.
"A couple of wide players, some cover in defence and a striker. That would be us. We have one more loan but the rest may be permanents."
Partick Thistle's campaign starts in the Premier Sports Cup today against Stenhousemuir but their Championship season doesn't begin until July 30th against Dundee. After finishing fourth last year, improvement is being eyed.
There's also going to be a healthy playing surface after renovation works on the Firhill pitch, with an optimistic outlook on a friendly against Motherwell on July 16th going ahead held.
He added: "Top four is the target but we have to finish higher than fourth. We and our supporters expect us to improve.
"The pitch is really good. It's growing every day and we are hopeful the Motherwell friendly will be on. Time will tell."
