Ian Brown fans have criticised the music legend's gig in Leeds on Sunday night after he performed to backing tracks, with the disappointment coming just days before he's due to play in Newcastle.
The Stone Roses icon began his latest nationwide tour at the O2 Academy at the weekend but, while they are always delighted to see the My Star singer in action, fans weren't happy that he appeared on stage without a live band. One ticket holder, Steve Latham, shared a clip of a performance from the £40 a head concert, having revealed he'd walked out before the end.
Posting on Twitter, they wrote: "Gutted to see @ianbrown turn up to his £40 a ticket, sold out gig at leeds tonight WITH NO BAND. I’m a life long fan but it was bad. #ianbrown does karaoke and butchers his own tunes. Most were too pi**ed to care but I had to get out after this one. Longsight M13 was a highlight."

Her returned to Twitter on Monday to add: "Feel a bit bad about this., I was just so disappointed. We all know Ian can’t sing but there’s always a band to bring it together. Some onstage chemistry, the drummer’s energy, the guitarist’s musicianship. I think if there’s no band you should tell people up front"
Steve wasn't alone in his criticism as many others too shared their frustration at what they saw of Ian. One blasted: "£40 to see a karaoke act," with another posting: "Ian Brown signing over backing tracks in Leeds tonight. No live band on stage. Wtf?"
Others who were there took a different view entirely,. some going as far as saying it was 'the best concert ever.' Fighting Ian's corner, one tweeted the singer to write: "thanks very much for a great night in Leeds last night ,front & centre loved every minute," with another commenting: "personally didn't see anyone walk out but I did see a room full of people having a great night. Let the haters hate."
A third fan, also at the Leeds show on Sunday evening, was quick to praise the man himself, posting: "Thank you Ian Brown for the best concert ever at Leeds 02 Academy. You were incredible. God bless you always. It was so amazing"
Ian will play O2 City Hall Newcastle on Thursday, September 29.
