An ex-Aldi employee has spilled some of the secrets about what it's like working at the checkouts in the supermarket.
Lewis Jones worked at the budget supermarket in 2021 and he said that customers said the same three annoying things to him on every shift.
He uploaded a video to TikTok with the caption "the joys of working in retail" as he opened up on what it was really like to work at Aldi.

In the clip, which has been viewed more than 50k times he said: “Things I hear 10,000 times everyday working at Aldi”.
Lewis then went on to list same three cringeworthy jokes or small talk that customers used to say to him every single day as he worked on the checkouts in Aldi.
The first thing that customers would always joke is: “It’s not scanning, it must be free” if a product wouldn't scan when it was going through the till.
Lewis said he didn't see the funny side to the joke and would always think: "Absolutely not."
The second thing people said to him would be "I only came in for one thing" while buying a large trolley full of items.
And the third slightly bizarre thing customers would always ask him to try to be nice is: “What time do you finish?”.
Lewis said that when he would tell them the hours he was working they would always say: "God that's long" which he said made him feel even worse.
Other supermarket employees took to the comments to agree with one person writing: "Literally every shift."
Another person said: "[I've] lost count how many times were asked these a day."
Meanwhile a third shared: "I told a customer that a product was out of stock - they told me 'Why is it advertised on the TV.'"
