‘I worked at David’s Bridal from 2015 to 2021… and even now just THINKING about YP3344 makes me cringe’: California man claims he sold the same bridal dress 46 weeks straight

If you thought bridal drama peaked at tulle explosions and mother-in-law meltdowns, think again. A former David’s Bridal employee slash keeper of cursed secrets just dropped a TikTok bombshell. After a commenter shared that they sold the dress for 46 weeks straight, he practically leaped out of bed to confirm the collective trauma. He shares that yes, this infamous gown haunted his sales floor, too.

What is David’s Bridal to Begin With?

If you’re unfamiliar with the name but still want to indulge in the gossip, worry not. David’s Bridal is a boutique chain that sells formal gowns and dresses for all occasions. Think bridesmaid dresses, prom dresses, homecoming dresses, quinceañera dresses, and, of course, wedding gowns. David’s Bridal recently came under fire for a mishap with a size-16 bride. Apparently, although it states on the website that walk-ins are welcomed, one TikToker posted how she was asked to leave simply because a client with an appointment had arrived and the employee needed to tend to her. A surge of comments came forward saying that they have been able to buy gowns off-the-rack before so there definitely isn’t a rule that says customers can’t freely see what’s in the store.

What is Topher’s Experience?

Now, Topher (@topher__96) is no amateur when it comes to David’s Bridal. He even hints at more stories kept behind the curtains.

It all starts with his 15-second TikTok. Within just four days, the clip has achieved 4.4 million views. Topher begins the clip by saying, “I’ve never hopped out of bed so fast to make a TikTok video.” He then points at a comment pinned on the top left corner of the clip that says: “I worked at David’s Bridal and I sold the same wedding dress (style YP3344) every week for 46 weeks straight.”

Topher says, “I felt this on my soul. Like, I can make so much bridal content–specifically David’s Bridal content. Any questions anybody has.” This is where the clip ends.

Now TikTok is in full detective mode, with many viewers searching for the dress and posting it in the comments. Many side-eye the dress’s design–a strapless, bedazzled, mermaid-cut relic of the mid-2010s—and wonder how it became the unofficial uniform of America’s brides.

Everyone is a Fashionista

With plenty of photo evidence of the style YP3344 in the TikTok comments, suddenly, everyone has a fashion degree. One viewer states, “I just looked up that dress on David’s bridal and I was shocked. I was expecting something better.” While another says, “It looks so ugly.”

On the contrary, many brides have posted whether they shared the same dress, or they were truly unique after all. One viewer says, “Say what you want but I LOVE my dress.”

Another shares she’s happy she isn’t lumped in with the majority, “This makes me so happy that I went to a smaller boutique instead of going to a place like DB. I still have yet to see anyone wear my dress or anything remotely like it.”

Many viewers are just like Topher–past employees of David’s Bridal. It seems the trauma flows freely between them. One viewer says, “Former DB stylist here. I have nightmares about this dress.” While another states, “I am so over the strapless dresses. It’s a trend that hasn’t died down, and a ton of women don’t look good in them. I’m glad I’m not selling dresses anymore!”

One viewer shares, “YP3344 commission paid my rent from 2014-2018.”

Lastly, another previous employee says, “We nicknamed all the dresses to make it easier and we had one dress we called ‘everybody’s dress’ because so many people picked it. we had a bride come in one time who was really pretentious and talked about how unique her and her fiance were and then she picked out everybody’s dress.”
