Eddie Howe has expressed how he wants supporters to feel when they watch his Newcastle United side. The Toon boss has often spoken of his desire to play attacking football, giving Monday Night Football a full breakdown of his philosophy in 2020.
Bournemouth benefitted from Howe’s intuition for over a decade and Newcastle fans are now firmly behind their coach. Securing Premier League survival earned the 44-year-old a contract extension, with Toon chiefs backing him to continue his success for many years to come.
Howe has previously insisted he prepares for every game - no matter the opponent - aiming to win. That mission statement will certainly be tested when Manchester City arrive at St James’ Park on Sunday.

The Magpies have won just once in their last 29 league outings against the champions - a damning run that stretches back to 2005. Ahead of the clash, the Magpies’ manager spoke about the importance of winning in style.
Former manager Ruud Gullit outlined his mission to bring “sexy football” to Tyneside in 1998 - a plan that never quite worked. “First and foremost, I want to win,” Howe told Football Focus.
“But then how you win is absolutely important to me. If you want to call it sexy, I've got no problem saying that. I want to play attractive football; I want the supporters to be entertained. I want them to be excited to watch the team week in, week out.
“I want to try and take their breath away in certain moments with what the players can deliver. Those are the key things for me but, ultimately, you have to try and build a winning team as well.”
