'I used to eat a teaspoon of peanut butter a day - now I'm saying 'f*** you' to toxic diet culture'

From just 11-years-old, Evie Waxman was struggling with her image - surrounded by magazines promoting 'lemon water and cayenne pepper' fad diets, and hearing the adult women around her slam their own bodies.

As a young teenager, Evie would restrict her diet as she was becoming increasingly anxious about the way she looked and how clothes fit her. Her own dad would go on to raise concerns about only ever seeing Evie eat a teaspoon of peanut butter, but all the while, she was stuck in a 'toxic bubble' of young girls struggling with their self-esteem, 'egging each other on to not eat'.

In her early 20s, Evie's eating disorder remained, pushing her to 'only eat a couple of carrots and a handful of nuts a day'. It wasn't until she started travelling the world that she decided to change her life.
