I tried to find the viral 99p Home Bargains shower gel and found something way better

Earlier this week Home Bargains practically broke the internet when shoppers discovered a luxury shower gel worth £60 selling for less than a quid. Bottles of the Kiwi Botanicals Nourishing Shower Gel were flying off the shelves as bargain hunting customers snapped up the lavish product.

I’ve always been one to get a bit of ‘fear of missing out’, so I headed down to my nearest Home Bargains in a bid to find some of the manuka honey scented bath product for myself.

And while I couldn’t locate any of the high-end shower gel, I did find something even better.

Scouring the shelves for the bottle of reddish gel, it appeared that my store either hadn’t been graced with any stock - or it had been cleared out by other members of the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group, where the product was first posted.

However, in my hunt I did discover two other Kiwi Botanicals products, which were also retailing at 99p.

I first picked up the Kiwi Botanicals soothing body conditioner before later also finding their brightening honey melt facial cleanser. I’m a sucker for any honey scented product, to be honest, like the Aldi bath nectar, which is super dreamy.

I picked one of each, grabbing an extra one to pop into my ‘gifts to give people at Christmas and birthdays’ box. If you don’t have one, you should, products like this are perfect for it.

Naturally, I rushed right home, ran myself a bath, and took my makeup off with the cleanser, which is said to ‘revive dull looking skin to reveal a radiant glow’.

The consistency of the cleanser is a little sticky, like honey, but the moment you start to massage it into the skin, it lathers like a soap to help remove makeup and wash the day away.

My favourite product was the body conditioner though, which was a super rich and thick body butter-style product for moisturising the skin. It’s got quite a light fragrance to it, made with shea butter, chamomile and manuka honey. The butter is so thick it doesn’t so much as wobble when you shake the tub, and it does feel really luxurious when applying it.

While it’s unclear how much either of these products would have been originally as the brand’s website has been taken down and their socials abandoned, if it’s similar to the shower gel, you’re looking at around £60. I’d never pay that much for a bath or shower product, however, out of the two, the body conditioner felt the most luxe - so if you’re heading out to Home Bargains, be sure to check the shelves for this pamper product!
