Starbucks orders have a tendency to be at least 10 syllables long no matter what you order. For example, an easy order would be a venti caramel cream frappuccino - 10 syllables. And that’s without adding your extra drizzle or whipped cream.
The baristas at the global coffee chain must have the patience of a saint for some of the orders that come through, especially with the rise of social media platforms like TikTok, where ‘secret’ drinks and made up orders see shoppers to try the weird and wonderful creations. It's important to note that Stabucks DON'T actually have a secret menu, but you can personalise your drinks with the items they hold in the kitchen.
And while I won’t be asking anyone to ‘make me a drink that reminds you of your first love’ or anything like that, I think it’s okay to order custom drinks within reason - and there is a frappuccino that’s off-the-menu I just had to try.

TikTok is probably 90 per cent responsible for the fear baristas feel when they hear ‘I want to try this drink I saw online’, with the latest viral blended beverage - the ‘Twix Frappuccino’ already racking up 58.6k views on the app.
However, ordering it isn’t as complicated as it sounds, and when I headed into my local branch, the barista was more than happy to ring my order up, adding: “I can totally see how this would taste like a Twix.”
To order the chocolatey creation, ask your barista for a caramel frappuccino with a cream base, with extra caramel drizzle and extra mocha drizzle. The biscuit crunch can then be added by asking for blended Java chips - also known as Frappe chips. It’s totally up to you if you want to add whipped cream, too.
The ‘Twix Frappuccino’ set me back a little over £5 for a medium, but it definitely resembled the much loved chocolate bar with its chocolate and caramel combo and java chip crunch. It was extremely rich and creamy, and definitely satisfies a sweet tooth and perfect for the recent heatwave.
During the hottest summer on record, Manchester was crowned the Frappuccino blended beverage capital of the UK, drinking more Frappes than any other city. According to Starbucks, one in three (32%) of all iced drinks bought in the city during the hottest days this summer have been the iconic Frappuccino , higher than any other city nationwide.
Frappuccino consumption peaked in Manchester on the hottest day in British history so far, Tuesday, July 19, with the iconic drink accounting for almost two in five (36%) cold beverages sold at Starbucks stores in the city.
Alex Rayner, General Manager at Starbucks UK, said: “We’re proud to be pioneering cold coffee beverage innovation in the UK. With a growing number of our customers drinking iced coffee all-year round, we will continue to meet our customer’s needs, wherever they are at in their day – come rain or shine!”
So, if you fancy levelling up your Frappuccino order at Starbucks, why not try the ‘Twix Frappuccino’ on your next visit?
