A "magical" farm has been described as a "hidden gem" as the positive reviews come pouring in.
Tucked away down a country lane you will find a lovely coffee barn with a variety of animals that people travel to visit. The Yew Tree farm in Halewood has been around for years, I remember begging my nan to get ice cream and to pet the donkey.
Having heard only good things about the Yew Tree Coffee Barn, I decided to just go in and see for myself. The thing that interested me the most was being able to have breakfast watching the alpacas, I couldn't wait to go. And I wasn't disappointed.

Open between 9am and 3pm on weekdays, we arrived early and sat inside, with a window seat, watching the alpacas in their field. I ordered a full English which came with along with a mug of tea in a fancy mug.
And it tasted amazing, the best part obviously has to be the doorstep toast, I've never had toast that thick before, it was incredible. And a fair price too, for £8 you are served an egg, bacon, sausage, black pudding, grilled mushroom, tomato, beans and two slices of toast (upgraded to doorstop for £1.15).
My boyfriend got the Big Barn Breakfast for £10.50 which included two eggs, two bacon, two sausage, a hashbrown, black pudding, tomato, mushroom and beans and toast. You could also add on any items for an extra charge.
As we were leaving, you could see the queues forming as it got busier and busier. I loved it that much that a couple of weeks later I returned on a stunning summer's day and decided to sit outside. This was so beautiful, watching the alpacas walk around their field opposite, the sun beaming.
This time I decided to try something different and opted for the breakfast muffin, swapping the sausage for a mushroom, and my God did it taste incredible. Again, the crowds were forming and it was such a lively little place.
For £6.75 the breakfast muffin came in two halves, and included a fried egg, bacon, sausage, hash brown and melted cheese. This was lovely with a bottle of pure apple juice.
Despite being busy and run off their feet, the staff were so friendly and super helpful. I just love the rustic barn, it has a cosy feel to it and pleny of seating. Breakfast is served all day but there is also a lunch menu and a selection of cakes and home-made scones and the ice-cream I remember so fondly.
The farm shop has sadly since closed after becoming "financially unviable" in early 2020. But the barn, believed to be over 300 years old, was "sensitively refurbished" and a space was created for weddings and events.
We had a little peak and it looks incredible. I've seen a few weddings there when driving past and they've all looked like great fun.
This is now my favourite cafe and I will always try to find an excuse to go. But for sisters Rachel Maskell, 40, and Katie Wilkes, 37, it has become more than their home.
Speaking to the ECHO previously, Katie said: "It is lovely to see the 300 year old barn get a new lease of life and a new chapter, the barn building has barely changed but serves such a different purpose to how we remember it as a grain shed when we were young.
"Our best feature is our people, we are a small team who care that anyone visiting Yew Tree Farm have a positive experience. We have had customers coming to the farm for over 40 years and hope we get to keep sharing it with people for another 40."
Ann and Graham Lund moved to a 40-acre farm in Halewood in 1981 where they became arable farmers. After opening a small farm shop, the married couple soon produced anything from potatoes and cauliflowers to wheat, turkey and lambs and Yew Tree Farm has remained in the family ever since.
As well as weddings, the farm area also caters for wakes, business meetings and training days as visitors travel from across the UK. Open Monday to Friday, the family say they cannot wait to see what the future holds, in the heart of Halewood Village.
