Whether you're a fan of nuggets, wraps or the humble cheeseburger, McDonald's is probably on your list of go-to fast food. While classics like the Big Mac or the McCrispy are much loved, fans are always keen for new items to keep the menu exciting.
Along with the relaunch of the Chicken Big Mac, a brand new burger has arrived on the menu shake up to tantalise the taste buds of beef burger lovers - the Steakhouse Stack.
McDonald's Steakhouse Stack is a limited edition burger with two beef patties and peppercorn sauce to give that steak feel, so naturally we had to try it.

The Steakhouse Stack sounds quite intimidating with the double patties covered in peppercorn sauce, cheddar cheese, crispy onions, red onions and lettuce in a toasted bun.
However, when the burger arrived, our excitement was curbed slightly as the "stack" seemed no bigger than a normal double burger - which essentially it is. Another disappointment came as we realised the burgers don't actually include steak, just the usual beef patty.
The Mirror's lifestyle editor, Courtney Pochin agreed, saying: "It doesn't really seem big enough to qualify as a stack, it's just a double burger. I see what they were trying to do here, but I'm not sure it worked."
While it may not be as tall as the name suggests, I definitely wouldn't have wanted more beef patties as the flavour in this burger is already overwhelmed by meat. In other Maccies burgers, like the Big Mac, there is bread, sauce and other elements to break up this chunk of beef but for the Steakhouse Stack, this is missing.
After the patties, the creamy peppercorn sauce takes over each bite and adds a distinct kick that instantly screams steak, more so than the meat itself.
All other flavours became slightly lost in the beef and peppercorn overtones, unless you bite directly into the onions - the cheese might as well have not been included to save the cost of ingredients for all the impact it made.
Courtney suggested "more cheese" was the way to go, as it "got lost in the mix" but added the double onions should be scrapped in favour of the crispy ones. "Just pick one [onion] and be done with it please," she pleaded.
That's not to say the Steakhouse Stack isn't nice. Meat and peppercorn is exactly what I would expect from a burger named after steaks and if I wanted a double beef burger I'd probably opt for this one happily.
For myself and Courtney, it's just a little lacklustre and other than the peppercorn sauce lacks any real distinction from a regular double cheese burger.
"It's a nice bit of novelty for a McDonald's fan, but for me nothing is going to live up to the lasagne burger from last summer. Can we bring that back instead?" she asked.
Despite our apprehension, some of our colleagues disagreed as the Mirror's assistant features editor, Kyle O'Sullivan said: "Usually McDonald's burgers with two patties are incredibly dry, but with the creamy peppercorn sauce oozing everywhere it was perfect.
"If I'd had closed my eyes then I could have been eating an actual steak and it was nice to get a burger that actually fills you up.
"The only negative would be the massive lumps of red onion - they just needed a bit more chopping up."
This was seconded by senior lifestyle writer, Ariane Sohrabi-Shiraz, who said: "I was super impressed with both the flavour and look of this burger. The beef patties felt a lot more substantial than your regular Maccies burger, and as such is really filling.
"If I were to critique anything, I would say it needs an extra slice of cheese between each patty. The creamy peppercorn sauce has a slight kick to it, and goes perfectly with the the flavoursome crispy onions – they stole the show for me.
"I think this one is going to be a hit."
Coming in at slightly more than your usual double burger, as prices have also risen at the fast food chain, the Steakhouse Stack starts at £5.39 by itself or £6.99 as a meal with chips and a drink. McDonald's notes that prices can vary across restaurants so you could be spending £6 on the burger alone in some places.
The new menu means some old favourites are leaving such as the Grand Mac but to soften the blow, Maccies has also launched Winning Sips. Customers can win prizes including £10,000 cash, menu favourites, and limited-edition merch including bucket hats, towels and Coca-Cola glasses when purchasing a medium or large soft drink.
