There’s been more drama in the Love Island villa this weekend, with an unexpected kiss, a tense re-coupling and two new bombshells. But the question on everyone’s mind remains the same - how do the girls keep their hair looking like they’ve just left the salon every single day?
Their secret could quite possibly be the result of an affordable haircare duo spotted in the villa.
Boots - the exclusive beauty partner for the ITV dating show - have filled the Love Island dressing room with hundreds of beauty, skin and hair care products for contestants to use, some of which have been spotted by eagle-eyed viewers, like the mascara Molly Marsh loves and the brow gel Ruchee favours.

And sitting on the shelf right by the bathtub are two shampoo and conditioner duos from the Boots Ingredients range, easily recognisable since I’ve been using them for the past year myself.
Boots launched their Ingredients hair care line following the success of their Ingredients skincare range. The products include a selection of shampoos , conditioners , hair masks and serums that aim to moisturise, volumise or repair, depending on your hair care needs.
The ingredient-led range is designed to target common hair concerns such as dryness, damage and frizz, with easy explainers on the front of each bottle to show who it's for and how it works.
I previously suffered with dry hair, which then caused my hair to overproduce oil, leaving it looking greasy within 24 hours of washing, so started using the Boots Ingredients Moisture range in a bid to combat it, and after 12 months, my hair has never felt better.
The Boots Ingredients Moisture range is infused with hyaluronic acid - a real beauty buzz word at the moment. It’s incredibly popular in skincare routines as a moisturiser, as it can hold ‘10 times its weight in water’.
The shampoo bottle reads: “This hydrating shampoo contains hyaluronic acid and cold pressed extra virgin chia seed oil which gently cleanses whilst moisturising your hair.”
It’s said to be good for dry and brittle hair, helping it feel moisturised, reduce frizz, and leave it looking shiny and feeling smooth.
I usually use around a 50p sized amount of shampoo before emulsifying it in my hands and massaging it into my scalp. I always double-shampoo my hair, and it is always left feeling squeaky clean with no product build up.
The range smells beautiful, with a subtle but sweet fragrance that’s not as overpowering as brands like Herbal Essences, but still leaves you feeling like your hair smells fresh.
Following my second rinse, I like to use the Boots Ingredients Moisture Conditioner through the mid-lengths to ends of my hair and brush it through with a tangle teezer. It only needs to be left on for one to three minutes, which is much shorter than other conditioners I’ve used.
To complete the routine, I use the Boots Ingredients Moisture Serum , which smells just as gorgeous as the rest of the range. To apply it, I dispense a pea sized amount in the palm of my hand, rubbing my hands together before running my fingers through my hair. This can be left on and doesn’t need to be rinsed off before blow drying and styling your hair.
After drying my hair, it looked like I’d just walked out of the hair salon and I felt like a villa bombshell with hair that felt sleek, fresh, shiny and smelling amazing.
I love that with the Boots Ingredients hair care range, you can completely personalise your regime without breaking the bank. The products are all £4.50 each, and you could even mix and match if you felt you needed volume and hydration, for example.
Others have also been enjoying the new haircare products, raving about the shampoo and conditioner on the Boots website.
One shopper said: “This gave a great softness without adding weight. It smells lovely too.”
Another added: “As someone whose hair is highly colour treated I am always on the lookout for products that will help to restore moisture and bring my hair back to good condition.
“I had heard about hyaluronic acid in the past and was always keen to try it as I heard it holds ten times its weight in water, perfect for dry and brittle hair.
“I was looking forward to using this conditioner together with the shampoo, serum and weekly moisture mask. The packaging was simple yet stylish and the product had a pleasant scent. I do think I got the results it mentioned on the product and even my hairdresser commented on the good condition my hair was in and that we didn't need to give it a trim on my last visit!”
But some shoppers weren’t fans of the bottles, commenting: “I love this shampoo it feels like it’s cleaned my hair really well and left it soft. It had a lovely scent. The only shame was the bottle appearance.”
Another shampoo spotted in the villa is the SheaMoisture Strengthen & Restore Shampoo Jamaican Black Castor Oil Sulphate Free Shampoo, which is usually £12.99, with the L'Oreal Paris Elvive Hydra Hyaluronic Shampoo and TRESemme Rich Moisture Shampoo also among the products in the Islander's bathroom.
