Despite the fuller silhouette, I found them flattering and easy to wear, particularly when paired with a slim-fitting top, classic white T-shirt or cropped jacket to create a more defined, hourglass shape.

I particularly love the rip at the back of the ankle, which you can thread a high heel through for an edgy, editorial finish. Style with a simple tank top to let the jeans do the talking, or add a silk scarf as a belt for a full bohemian look. They are on the pricier side, but the standout detailing makes them feel like they’re worth the investment.

I personally like the subtle taper towards the hem, which keeps the shape feeling more structured than looser styles.
Finished in a pre-washed, grainy blue, they have an easy lived-in quality and, importantly, hold up well in the wash with minimal shrinkage. As the weather cools, I’d style these with boots rather than chunky trainers, which I found made the proportions feel slightly unbalanced.

At nearly 5ft 10in, finding jeans that are genuinely made with tall women in mind can feel like winning the lottery. Too often, “long” seems to mean drowning in denim, rather than simply getting the proportions right. These Gap jeans, however, strike the balance perfectly.
They’re figure-hugging without feeling restrictive, really flattering through the waist and hips, and, most importantly, actually comfortable. I love the 70s-inspired flared fit, which gives them that effortlessly cool, elongated silhouette that looks just as good with a simple tee as it does dressed up.
The length, of course, is the standout. They fall exactly where you want them to. I got them in long and they have enough length to skim nicely over a pair of boots or heels, but not so much that they swamp you when you slip on a pair of flats.
