Dr Michael Mosley is credited as the inventor of the 5:2 diet and a health guru who has been on British TV screens with advice on leading a healthier life since 1985. Dr Mosley introduced the 5:2 diet in a 2012 documentary, Eat, Fast and Live Longer.
The premise of the diet is that five out of seven days of the week are routine food days and on the remaining two days calories are restricted to around 500-600 per day. Now, in an updated version of the fasting diet, Fast 800, Mosley has come up with a plan that sees users eat 800 calories a day.
