Valentine's Day is just around the corner and there's no better way to get into the loved-up spirit than a fresh flower delivery. In anticipation of the upcoming February 14 date, I received a romantic bunch and was 'blown away' by what was handed to me.
The date is just a week away and I have to admit there is no better feeling than being spoilt by your significant other. Whether you enjoy going out on a date night, cooking for each other, going over-the-top with gift giving or you're happy with a card, it's a day celebrated differently by couples, friends and family.
Personally, my boyfriend and I don't read too much into the holiday and our Valentine's Day normally consists of a trip to our high-street cafe or cooking something extravagant together in the evening. This is partly because February is a chaotic month for us filled with two birthdays and an anniversary in one week that we tend to put a lot more focus on.

I've also always been 'that person' who sees Valentine's Day as a marketing spin rather than a day filled with true meaning like Christmas and birthdays, so it's safe to say that finding something meaningful in the lead-up to the date was always going to be tricky for me.
Flowers seem to be the 'go-to' gift for couples celebrating Valentine's and at this time of year, florists are working around the clock to get out orders for other people's significant others. And it's safe to say after trying a unique florist service, I may well and truly be converted to wanting annual Valentine's gifts aswell as gifting my boyfriend (who says men can't recieve flowes too).
Direct2Florists is a national floral delivery service that acts as a middleman for those wanting to place bouqet orders, shoppers can go online and add in their address and choose from an orray of bunches within their local area. It's been described as 'the new way to send flowers' and after placing an order of red roses, I think I agree.
While there are other flower delivery services available online from the likes of Bloom&Wild, Prestige Flowers and Interflora- this arrangement felt extra special with knowing they came from a local florist.
I received a bunch of red roses, a traditional staple when it comes to Valentine's, but my favourite parts was the added peices of white and green. I love roses and don't think you can go wrong but sometimes I feel as though a massive bunch can get quite repetitive, so it was lovely to have a few sprigs of eucalyptus and gypsophila (also known as baby breath) added in.
As well as the fact that the red, white and pastel green colours match each other, it seems as though a lot of thought had gone into the specific choice of completmentary flowers and what they meant.
In the floral industry eucaplyptus is used as a symbolism of protection and abundance. The baby's breath is a popular staple at weddings thanks to its meaning of 'everlasting love', therefore a perfect addition to a Valentine's gift.
I have a feeling that the eucalyptus will last a lot longer than the roses and 'baby's breath' so once the bouquet has wiltered (which it shows no signs of yet) I plan on hanging it up to dry and use as decoration.
The flowers were delivered within a day of the order being made and came from a nearby florist, which is another bonus to the service as it gives independent business an added stream of customers.
Wrapped with a bright red bow, and delivered in water the bouquet was already prepped to add straight into a vase at home, it also came with a few added love hearts to complete the Valentine's theme.

Going on to their website shoppers enter in their postcode, here, to search for the florists in your area. The search engine then pops up with a 'desired delivery date' tab and will only put you in touch with the florists who can deliver a bouquet at that time.
Once shoppers add their delivery date, the different options of florists are shown and can be filtered depending on the type of flowers you are looking for.
