I tried an eyelash growth serum and I don't need to get false lashes any more

Some people are blessed with naturally long, dark lashes, but I am absolutely not one of them.

Even with mascara, my eyelashes were barely visible and so once I started earning a proper wage, I began getting my lashes done on a regular basis and those semi-permanent lashes became my war paint. I hated going anywhere if I didn't have them on.

My sister suggested taking a break, and that they might grow long if I just went without false ones for a while, but when we were all plunged into lockdown, my appointments obviously became non-existent for months, and my lashes were still tiny.

I was thrilled when we were allowed to have beauty treatments again, and carried on getting my lashes filled. But as a working mum with very little spare time, it was a bit of a faff, not to mention I had mum guilt for treating myself when that money could be spent elsewhere.

So after seeing many incredible reviews online, I finally decided to give UKLash growth serum a go. The growth serum is said to be "the answer to long, full lashes, without falsies", and "packed full of essential vitamins that boost your lashes growth, fullness, and length”.

I was utterly sceptical, having had almost invisible eyelashes since I can remember, but I followed the instructions and put the serum on both eyes once a day.

After a month, I was astounded. While my eyelashes probably didn't look long to anybody else, they had clearly grown and were much more visible.

And now, having used the serum for 12 weeks, they look just like my fake ones did (when I apply mascara). Someone asked me which brand of falsies I was wearing this weekend, and I have to admit I was very happy when I could answer "none, these are my own".

UKLash Eyelash Serum is priced at £37.95 from Beauty Bay for a 3ml tube. While this doesn't sound like a big amount, I have only purchased one tube and there's still plenty left.

Given what I've saved on getting my eyelashes done, it's a no-brainer.
