When there's scorching weather like in recent days, it can be difficult to find ways to cool our dogs down.
That's why I'm always after weird and wonderful ways of trying to cool down my dog Penny. She loves lying in the sun and having a snooze, but that can result in her becoming too hot, and as a paranoid dog mum, I worry!
I've tried ice cubes, dog ice cream, the lot, but I was after something a little more fun for her to keep her occupied. After seeing that B&M were selling its very own dog paddling pool, I tried to find it but it was out of stock at my local store, so I resulted to Amazon.

The 'GoStock' paddling pool is currently priced at £22.97 and comes in various different sizes. I decided to go for the 80cm x 20cm considering my dog is quite small, and it was the absolute perfect size. It was super easy to set up, and didn't need to be inflated at all. It even comes with a doggy brush to comb your wet pup after a paddle.
I really liked that the paddling pool was easy to fold, and was made from thick PVC composite fabric material that is described as 'safe' and 'non-toxic' to dogs. It also claims to be scratch resistant, which I can absolutely verify, because Penny was digging like crazy when she was inside it.
At first, she wasn't too sure about the paddling pool, but after a few minutes she was splashing away and even drinking the water. After she'd had a paddle she had the ultimate zoomies, which is a definite sign to me that she was having fun.
The pool was nice and deep, and wasn't flimsy like some dog paddling pools, it was sturdy, and ideal for a dog with bags of energy. It comes with a draining cap that you just need to unscrew when you're done, and it's as simple as that.
Amazon shoppers have described the pool as a 'game changer' and it's easy to see why. It kept my dog occupied for a pretty long time, and there was no damage or mess - what a bonus!
