Another day, another budget-friendly skincare 'dupe' which shoppers swear is just as good - or better - than some more expensive counterparts.
And this time it is Aldi's own-branded skincare range that has once again proven to be a hit with shoppers, thanks to a facial oil that is similar to one sold from Pixi.
The budget supermarket's own skincare brand Lacura is no stranger to providing shoppers with some high quality skincare 'dupes' and the latest is no exception.
Priced at just £3.99, the Lacura Healthy Glow Rose Facial Oil has been delighting skincare enthusiasts since 2019, with many saying it is like "luxury in a bottle".
Many beauty fans said it "makes their skin glow and look younger", as well as being "great value."
Even better, it is said to be a 'dupe' of Pixi's £26 rose oil blend for shoppers looking to improve their complexion and skin elasticity.
Since the Lacura Rose Oil would save you over £20 compared to the premium brand, I decided it was too much of a good opportunity to pass up.
Personally, I am a huge fan of using rosehip oil in my daily skincare routine, mainly because I have quite parched skin that can lose moisture fast. I also tend to get a little redness in the winter months, which means I am happy it is summer at the moment.
While I am a fan of rosehip in my skincare, I have never really used an oil before, with the only oil in my current skincare being The Body Shops Vitamin E oil that does nourish the skin exceptionally well.
At the bargain price of just £3.99 for Aldi's version, I wasn't going to complain and put the reviews to the test. Let's just say, I couldn't get over how luxurious this product felt.
The product and packaging
Like many facial oils, the Lacura Healthy Glow Rose Facial Oil comes in a simple glass 25ml bottle that has a glass dropper for you to pop the product onto the skin.
Aldi says its skincare product is "the perfect way to moisturise sensitive skin and bring some additional luxury to your process", and will leave your skin "smelling and feeling incredible."
Quite frankly, it sounds like exactly what I want to add into my skincare, as I am willing to pack in as much as I can to make my skin more moisture as I can, and if I can get it for less, then I am willing to try that.
Infused with rosehip, pomegranate, and jojoba oils, this serum smells absolutely divine when you open up the bottle. There definitely is a very light scent of rose that was never too overpowering or over perfumed, which is good for anyone with sensitive skin.
I personally got hints of Turkish Delight - which is one of my favourite treats - so plus points right there.
As for the packaging itself, I was surprised by how upmarket it actually looked. The bottle was a sturdy glass and not a flimsy plastic, which I have seen in some budget stores before.
With it's dusty pink colour and rose gold lettering, the packaging was very similar to luxury skincare brands that I have seen retailing at anywhere up to £30 in Boots.
Overall, the product smelled and looked amazing for such a budget price.
The results
On to the main point now, how does the product work on the skin?
Honestly, I think I have found my new favourite skincare product and I will be adding this to my beauty bag from now on.
Aldi directions for use says: "For use daily, AM and PM. After cleansing and toning your face, massage 2 or 3 drops into the skin, or add 1 or 2 drops to your moisturiser for extra hydration."
Despite the description, I tend to add a facial oil as the last step of my skincare routine. Hear me out before you judge. After cleansing, toning and moisturising, I then popped on three drops directly onto the skin to 'lock in' my routine to keep in the hydration.
After years of having dry and sensitive skin, I have found that it definitely keeps your skin hydrated and smooth.
I did find that 2 or 3 drops of this product is definitely enough, and anyone with oily skin might find that it makes their skin a little on the greasy side. But for us dry and sensitive skin sufferers, this rose facial oil really hydrates the skin.
After massaging the drops into the skin, I instantly noticed a light glow to my face and it didn't feel as tight as it sometimes can.
Honestly, if you are looking for a skincare product that will give your skin that extra hydration and healthy glow, then this is the product for you.
Unlike some facial oils, it wasn't overly scented and melted into the skin without feeling too greasy. It really was like luxury in a bottle.
At just £3.99 for a 25ml bottle, I can see why it has been such a steal and flying off the shelves.
