It’s that time of year again where Spring cleaning takes priority, with many of us scrambling to make sure our houses are in tip top sparkling condition.
I’ll be honest, I’m not the best of tidiers, and I often let things slide, like cleaning my windows. The front windows of my house get cleaned once a month for £5, but I’ve basically forgotten about my back ones, until now.
As part of our new spring cleaning series, I’ll be testing out a series of different cleaning products to see how well they work. Cleaning is so much better when it’s easy and simple, and there are many products out there to help make that happen.

Aldi in particular, has a number of different cleaning products on offer, for a good price too. I recently picked up their teal electric window cleaner for £20, and wasn’t too sure what to expect.
I’m not too keen on gadgets, purely because I’m very easily confused, but I was hoping this one would be simple and effective. For £20, I thought it was a decent price if it gave me nice clean windows. Here’s my verdict.
The window cleaner
To look at, I wouldn’t say the window cleaner was a groundbreaking piece of kit, but I didn’t want to judge it just based on aesthetics. It comes with one suction head, a spray bottle with a cloth holder, two washable microfiber cloths and a charging adapter. It was so easy to put together, with simple numbered instructions even a novice like me understood it fairly well.
I attached the microfiber cloth to the spray bottle head and sprayed the water onto my window to wipe away any access dirt before using the suction cleaner. I really liked the addition of the microfiber cloth to wipe away any initial dirt, it made things a lot easier.
The suction head was powerful and worked really well (after initially putting it on charge for three hours.) It wiped away the water instantly and seamlessly and made my windows look super shiny.
Before using the window cleaner my window was covered in dirt, from old rain water to dirty leaves, and the cleaner removed all of that with one simple swipe. I didn’t just have to use water either, the spray bottle meant that I could fill it with glass cleaner or nice scented products which was a nice touch.
For £20, this product is an absolute bargain, and I was surprised just how well it worked. It was so easy to set up and it only took me a maximum of 20 minutes to clean the back windows of the conservatory in my back garden.
I’d highly recommend this product to anyone who wants a quick fix for cleaning their windows with minimal effort required. It was a no fuss product that does exactly what it says on the tin.
