I tried a Total Wireless unlimited cell plan for a month — here's how it went

Total Wireless shown on a phone.

Ever since I switched to an MVNO a few years back, I haven't thought twice about ever trying a traditional wireless carrier again. It all started with Mint Mobile, which I then moved onto Cricket Wireless, Boost Mobile, and Visible. The best part about them all is the immense savings I get with their respective unlimited cell phone plans.

Since new MVNOs are constantly on my radar, this time I’m putting the Verizon-backed Total Wireless to the test with another one of my 30-day challenges to see exactly how Total's unlimited cell phone plan stacks up. The big three wireless carriers, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, ask anywhere around $60 to $90 per month for an unlimited plan — so it’s no wonder why I’m attracted to the $40 to $60 plans from Total Wireless.
