A spikey Steve Gerrard took a television interviewer to task after Aston Villa slumped to a 1-0 defeat against Arsenal on Saturday.
Bukayo Saka scored the only goal of the game on the half hour mark, to secure an away win for the Gunners that consolidates their fourth place standing in the Premier League and leaves Villa in ninth position.
But when BT Sport journalist Des Kelly suggested to Gerrard after the match that his side were still far behind top six sides such as Manchester City, Chelsea and his former club Liverpool, the Kop legend appear to have ran out of patience.

In a live broadcast on BT Sport, Gerrard said: "Well done Des for recognising that. If you're asking me that question, I would say that the league doesn't lie. Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man United, West Ham, Wolves - at the moment - are ahead of us for a reason and there's a gap. But if we want to take once of those places then we've got to go and grab it off them and really believe in what we're doing."
Gerrard sarcastically added: "But I do like how you work out these things pretty quick."
BT Sport reporter Kelly, replied: "I think you are aggressive in the interview and you should tell your players to do the same thing."
Gerrard then responded by saying: "I'll tell you what I am. I'm emotional, I care. I don't like getting beat and I actually thought your questions would be a little bit more better, in all honesty. No disrespect Des, I'm not making it personal. You've just said to me that there's a gap to Manchester City and Liverpool blah blah blah - we know that. And you also said that we had one shot on target towards the end of the game. That's how I described it as well."
Despite the awkward on air friction between the pair, a grinning Gerrard shook hands with Kelly before leaving the interview.
