This is the 'deafening' moment when two US Air Force jets flew low over a Scots town leaving residents 'frightened'.
Stunned Lanarkshire locals couldn't believe their eyes when the two fighter planes flew over the region at around 5.35pm on Thursday night.
One resident in Blantyre caught the moment the second jet passed by his house.
In the video the loud airplane can be seen powering low through the sky with red lights on, below the clouds.
As it quickly fires out of shot, the thundering noise of the jet can still be heard several moments later.
The Ministry of Defence told the Record that the airplanes were understood to be two US Air Force jets, flying over the densely populated area of Lanarkshire and the Central Belt.
The MOD would give no further details and the American Air Force have been contacted for comment.
According to sources and tracker apps, the jets were 'American F15s' and were flying very low, at around 1200 feet, heading south.
One resident in Blantyre said: "What a noise that was. Felt as if the house was shaking. Amazing to witness it."
Another said: "Heard the first one. Jumped outside and saw the second one which was a few seconds behind. It did a right turn towards East Kilbride."
A third said: "The noise they made was mental. Not gonna lie it scared me."
Another added: "Never jumped off the seat so fast in my life. Ran to the back door only to see one with two big red lights on them.
"I thought we were under attack very scary."
Another person said: "Went right over my house in Cumbernauld. I thought it was about to crash land. The noise was deafening."
Another resident, in Uddingston said: "The two military jets were flying low, and at speed, in a southerly direction over my house at around 5.35pm.
"I got a real fright as low flying over a densely populated area, such as Glasgow, never happens especially in the dark."
