I Thought I'd Never Feel Inspired by a New Christmas Fireplace Display Until I Saw Sabrina Carpenter's Unorthodox, Textured Twist – It's Oddly Replicable

Sabrina Carpenter.

When decorating for the holidays, I tend to start with the tree, then move to the fireplace and mantel area, and I’m not alone in this approach. Designers and celebrities alike are no strangers to beautifully dressed Christmas fireplaces, including Sabrina Carpenter, who has completely changed the way I view this space.

Oftentimes, I see celebrities hang stockings, wreaths, and garlands from their mantels, and Sabrina does exactly that. But her setup comes with an unconventional twist: fir.

The fireplace is covered in what appears to be rich fir, giving the surface an evergreen texture unlike anything I’ve written about before. At first glance, it seems impossible to recreate, but it is actually surprisingly simple. Start with some faux fir branches (like these from Amazon), then layer on stockings and wreaths, just as Sabrina demonstrates.

I'm struck by the textured uniqueness of Sabrina's Christmas decor, but I'm not alone in my appreciation for mantel decor. In fact, real estate agents, including Kevin Barzegar, the founder and CEO of Kaybridge Residential, explain that a beautifully dressed mantel boosts a home's perceived value and appeals to winter buyers.

'If your property has a fireplace, make it a feature with thoughtful mantel styling. Garlands, candles, stockings, or simple greenery arrangements can turn a fireplace into a compelling focal point that adds character and charm,' he says.

Even non-working fireplaces benefit from festive styling. Arrange pillar candles [like these from Amazon], fairy lights, or decorative logs to create visual interest and warmth.

'Fireplaces are inherently desirable features, and Christmas styling amplifies their appeal,' Kevin adds. 'They represent comfort and tradition, exactly what many buyers are looking for during the winter season.'
