'I think' - Paddy Pimblett makes Liverpool Champions League prediction and hails Jurgen Klopp

UFC fighter Paddy Pimblett has hailed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp as a 'messiah' and tipped him to lead the team to Champions League glory again this season.

The Reds booked their place in the quarter-finals on Tuesday despite losing 1-0 at home to Inter Milan.

That's because they had won the first leg in Italy 2-0.

Liverpool looked to finish the content on the night with Joel Matip and Mohamed Salah both hitting the woodwork either side of the break while, at the other end, Alisson was largely untested in goal.

That was until he was beaten by a unstoppable strike by Lautaro Martinez midway through the second half.

But minutes later, Alexis Sanchez was sent off after picking up two yellow cards to all but end Inter's hopes of a comeback.

The Reds' 2-1 aggregate victory means they remain in the hunt for an unprecedented Quadruple - they have already won the Carabao Cup, they are second in the Premier League, and are in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup as well as the Champions League.

Since Klopp arrived on Merseyside back in 2015, Liverpool have lifted the Premier League, the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and last month, the League Cup.

And Liverpool-born Pimblett has heaped praise upon the Reds boss and believes he can guide the club to European Cup number seven.

" Jurgen, he’s the man, the messiah in these parts. He’s the saviour," he told BT Sports prior to kick-off.

"The atmosphere of a European night here is another level, it’s special here [at Anfield]. I’m expecting 3-0 tonight, I reckon we'll slap Inter Milan around the park tonight. I think we’ll win the Champions League and go all the way."

While Pimblett's prediction for the match may have been out, you would not bet against Klopp leading Liverpool to further European Cup glory.
