'I sold my wedding dress on Instagram the day after I got married'

The founder of a new reselling platform for brides has explained why she decided to sell her own wedding dress.

Isabel Gleeson has worked in the fashion industry for years and has assisted countless brides planning outfits for their nuptials. She explains that many brides require not only their wedding dress for the big day, but also co-ordinated outfits for the day before and the day after their ceremony.

She wants brides to cut down on the waste associated with weddings and ultimately save costs they will never get back in other areas, such as money spent on the venue and flowers. The average wedding dress is only worn for 13 hours before being confined to the wardrobe, which spurred Isabel on to sell her wedding dress after receiving an offer on social media- just hours after her wedding day had ended.
