Just over a month ago, IKEA announced the 10th rendition of its PS Collection with three playful yet functional home products: a bending lamp, a rocking bench, and an inflatable chair. The chair, designed in a deep green color and encased in a sleek metal frame, became an instant talking point for its surprisingly chic look. But at the same time, it left everyone wondering: is it actually comfortable?
I'll be honest, after first hearing about IKEA's inflatable accent chair, dubbed the 'Easy Chair', I was skeptical. I thought that if it's anything like the blow-up plastic furniture from my childhood, then there's no way it could be comfortable.
But that was before I had the chance to sit in it myself. Now, I'm convinced that this chair is more comfortable than most of the non-air-filled furniture I own.

For ease of assembly, IKEA's viral air chair is sold with a foot pump. Its base seat features two inner air chambers that can inflate to your desired pressure. Its cotton and polyester cover is removable and machine washable for convenience. Plus, its sleek metal frame tops off the entire look.
Unlike the blow-up chairs you might have owned in the '90s or early '00s, this chair doesn't make that annoying, crinkling plastic noise when you sit on it, and it's not easily puncturable because of its thick fabric cover. Plus, you can move around on it, lean forward, sit backward, and relax for an extended period of time without feeling uncomfortable – something I can say with confidence after sitting on it myself. This IKEA air chair reimagines the blow-up chair from something childish to something so design-driven, you'd think it's a luxury designer find.
Like most IKEA furniture, the chair is incredibly easy to assemble. Just set up the frame, pump up the air chambers with the foot pump (sold with the chair), and zip each fabric cover shut. Once the cushions are in place, the chair is ready for use. If a spill ever occurs, the covers are conveniently machine-washable, and if the chair ever feels deflated, simply pump more air into each chamber.
Aside from providing extra seating in your living room or bedroom, this chair can become the talking point of your home – thanks to its chic, mid-century-inspired look and its borderline unbelievable means of assembly.
Nowadays, design trends are reminding us that the best furniture and decor can't just look good. It needs to be functional, comfortable, and practical for everyday life, too. Not only does IKEA's Easy Chair tap into that idea, but the brand's entire PS 2026 Collection was designed with the same intention. From height-adjustable stools to tables with hidden drawers, this PS Collection was designed to be stylish, versatile, and built for real life. The surprisingly chic and unbelievably comfortable air chair was just the start.

Though this cabinet looks like it's made of pink metal in a grid-like formation, it's actually all glass. Inside, it features three spacious shelves that can hold everything from books to decorative trinkets.

The floor uplighter is one of the most unique pieces from IKEA's PS Collection. Although it looks solid and rigid in form, it's designed with two hidden joints that allow the lamp to move in any direction.

This is not your typical dining chair. It's bold in color, playful in shape, and gives you the opportunity to sit however you want – facing front, facing back, or even leaning on the side. Available in bright blue or green, it's undoubtedly a statement piece.

Every home could benefit from a portable lamp, and this one is as stylish as they come. Turn it on and carry it from room to room, bringing bold light and vibrant colors with you wherever you go.
