We can all agree that the last couple of weeks have been extraordinary. Not just because we are witnessing a monumental moment in British history that many of us will never see the like of again, but also because the Queen's death has motivated ordinary people to do extraordinary things in paying their respects.
While tributes big and small have been paid to the late monarch from around the world, it is the Queen's lying-in-state at Westminster Hall that has most captured the British public's imagination, with hundreds of thousands of people queuing for around 14 hours to see the Queen's coffin. Even celebrities have got involved, with David Beckham and Sharon Osbourne among those joining the line which now stretches more than five miles.
Now, as a proud Brit, a love of queuing is hard-wired into me, so seeing those folks huddled together on the south bank of the Thames - it made me envious. I needed to find a cold, frustrating and perhaps ultimately pointless mission of my own. Enter the new King.
