'I ordered a McDonald’s burger to cure my hangover but found a giant furry BUG inside'

A couple who ordered a McDonald's to bring them "back to life" after a heavy night out were left feeling physically sick after a giant bug fell from their burger.

Cathy Suzuki, 25, and her partner Craig ordered the homestyle crispy chicken and a triple cheeseburger from a McDonald's at Portway in Milton Keynes via UberEats.

The couple split the meal, which cost £18.80, and sliced the chicken burger in two so they could both have some, the Sun reports.

But as they did, the massive creepy crawly fell out from between the burger.

Cathy, who lives in Milton Keynes, opted for a takeaway from the popular fast food joint because she was feeling "sick and horrible" after drinking the night before.

She told the Sun: "We ordered McDonald's to bring us back to life.

"But once we cut the burger in half, a giant, furry, disgusting bug dropped out of it."

After the creature fell out, the couple immediately chucked the entire meal in the bin.

"I honestly feel so sick," Cathy said. "How did the staff not notice? The worst thing is we asked for some changes to our burgers, so they should have been made fresh."

Cathy was in a state of disbelief, because she couldn't understand how staff could miss the giant bug.

After looking at the creature, Cathy thought it could have been a moth because it was "fuzzy".

McDonald's quickly refunded their meal after the couple - who run a digital marketing agency called Swiftly Social - brought it to their attention.

In a statement shared with the Mirror, a McDonald's spokesperson said: “Food safety is of the utmost importance to us.

"We place great emphasis on quality control, following rigorous standards to avoid any imperfections, so we are sorry to hear of this customer’s experience.

"As soon as this was brought to the attention of the restaurant, the customer was offered a full refund.

"We would encourage the customer to contact our Customer Services team so we can further investigate.”
