I ordered a 'gigantic' breakfast bap from a Birkenhead café that cured my hangover

It can sometimes feel like a bit of a chore making breakfast the morning after a night out, which is why I was so thankful to Roo’s Café for providing me with the best hangover fix.

Roo’s Café is tucked away in Birkenhead and offers plenty of different breakfast options for those who fancy a takeaway treat. Whether it’s ‘meaty binlids’ or lighter omelettes, the café offers a quick and convenient delivery service via Just Eat with the click of a button.

With a hangover comes extreme hunger (in my case anyway) so my family and I decided to make a hefty order. It consisted of two breakfast wraps with two sausages, bacon, hash browns and cheese and one medium breakfast box with bacon, sausages, egg, hash browns, beans and toast.

The star of the show, of course, had to be the ‘meaty binlid’ priced at £7. This hefty bap almost filled an entire dinner plate and was stuffed with sausages, bacon, egg and ulster fry. Our whole order came to £24 including the delivery fee and service charge and we only ended up waiting about 20 minutes maximum for our food to arrive.

I was shocked at how speedy the delivery was, and the best part was that it was still piping hot. There were no soggy cold fried eggs or stone cold fatty bacon, it was all cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour.

The size of the binlid was beyond words. It was humongous, and incredible value for £7. Of course, my dad had no problem tucking in to the absolute feast, that was encased in a soft fluffy white bap.

My breakfast wrap was a treat. Although a little messy to eat, the sausages were really flavoursome and the golden egg yolk moistened the wrap perfectly. My mums ‘fry-up in a box’ was just the right size and the baked beans in a little pot was a nice addition for those who don’t like mixing beans with their breakfast.

Of course, we probably shouldn’t make a habit of ordering hefty meaty binlids every weekend, but it was a fantastic treat after a birthday celebration. For anyone that loves a breakfast feast that you don’t have to wait ages for, Roo’s Café has hit the nail on the head.
