When it comes to how often you should be washing your sheets, there is no right and wrong answer – it will depend completely on who you ask.
One sleep expert recently suggested we should be changing them every two to three days to avoid a build-up of germs. Another expert has advised to wash them every week, even if you have a dog.
Most of us would most probably change the sheets this often if we could – but with the cost of living crisis continuing to tighten the budgets for many homes, many of us are having to change our habits.
One woman has shared that she has had to limit how often she washes her sheets because of the rising cost of living – but she's figured out how to make it work for her.
Veterinary nurse and artist Klaudia Wójcik says she has saved a fortune by cutting down to changing her sheets once a month on a 30C wash – and has tricks to make them less dirty.

The 27-year-old, who lives with her fiancé Ben in Worthing, West Sussex, told The Sun she "felt gross leaving them for longer than a fortnight" and that the "thought of all that swear and build-up of dead skin gave me the shivers".
However, when their bill skyrocketed to over £150 a month, they had to change their habits in order to save some cash.
She added: "At first it felt so gross. I became obsessed with sniffing the sheets each night to make sure I could still smell the washing powder, and I got so paranoid about sweating in the night - what if it made the bed stink?"
When Klaudia's mum found out about their "new habit", she was "disgusted" and expressed a concern that a cold wash wouldn't be able to clean their bedding properly.
However, Klaudia has come up with four tricks that means she doesn't have to wash them as often.
Firstly, even if she isn't washing them, Kladia makes sure to hang the sheets out to air on dry days because it helps them feel "fresher for longer". This makes it feel like they are "lying on freshly-washed linen".
Klaudia has also invested in a bed throw that protects the bedding from gathering dust throughout the day.
There are also two strict rules in the bedroom that have to be followed – only pyjamas on the bed and their dog isn't allowed on the bed.
Klaudia added: "I'll spot clean stains between washes and as long as I can still smell laundry powder on my sheets, I think they're fine. I know I'm a clean person."
At first Klaudia was worried, but by following these cleaning hacks she feels less stressed about it – and they are saving hundreds of pounds a year.
