Living in a big mansion in Cheshire, married to a footballer and able to dress head to toe in designer clothes - to the outside world it seemed like Danielle Gibson had it all. But for Danielle, those trappings of wealth meant she didn't feel she could reach out for help when she and her ex-Manchester United footballer husband Darron Gibson most needed it.
Realising that things had to change in her life, Danielle decided to take her own steps to help - by training for five years to become a psychotherapist to help others who are struggling with their emotional or mental health. For Danielle knows exactly how it feels when you don't feel that you "have the right" to complain or speak up when you are struggling.
Danielle opened up about her experiences at an event for inspiring women on International Women's Day in Manchester. Speaking to a crowd of businesswomen and friends, including a host of fellow former Manchester United footballers' wives and girlfriends, Danielle spoke openly and honestly about the reality of life married to a professional footballer.
