A man dubbed Mr Tinder who would receive 1,000 messages a day has told how he is struggling to find the right partner.
Stefan-Pierre Tomlin, 32, shot to fame in 2017 after receiving 14,600 right-swipes on the app and he was told that he was the most popular man on Tinder.
But after celebrity romances and plenty of attention, Stefan said that he is still looking for the love of his life.
He admitted that for some women it is difficult for them to accept his lifestyle and that the Mr Tinder label isn’t always helpful.
“Now I’m discovering that it’s hard for girls to see me for who I am. They like the idea of me but they don’t realise what my lifestyle entails. Having the name Mr Tinder isn’t ideal for a girl who’s looking for Mr Right,” he told Metro.
He continues: "I’ve dated a few celebrities because, unless you’re in this industry, you don’t really understand what it’s like. Girls who have normal jobs can be overwhelmed – the lifestyle involves a lot of travelling, and I’m also papped, which can cause arguments. When I’m out and about, I get recognised and have a lot of pictures taken with other people, because I’m a nice guy. That can cause jealousy."
Stefan-Pierre was working at Harrods when he first started using Tinder for fun and said that he “soon got addicted”.
It was after he was so successful with the “right-swipes” that he was short-listed among the 30 most-fancied people in the UK.
And from there after giving interviews and having photoshoots he was told he was told he was the most popular man on the dating app.
“That’s when things went crazy. I got more than 1,000 messages a day. I tried to answer as many as I could but didn’t have the time to open half of them,” he said.
Stefan told of taking a train from London to Kent where people were reading the news about him being Mr Tinder and when he got off other travellers were asking for selfies.
He said he loved the attention and went on dating shows which helped boost his modelling career.
He said that he has had two serious relationships after becoming Mr Tinder but he is still looking for the “special someone”.
One of his high profile relationships was with X Factor contestant Natasha Boon, who he split with in 2019.
Speaking to the Daily Star that same year, Stefan said: “I became single last week when my ex and I agreed our relationship wasn’t working. We were arguing and clashed a lot and agreed we were different.
“I just wanted to be by myself for a bit and get my own space back.”
