I’m representing the common man who wants to learn to dance, says restaurateur Zorawar Kalra on doing Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa

Dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has returned with season 10 after a gap of five years. The contestants are set to battle it out on the dance field. Zorawar Kalra, a restaurateur from Delhi, is also one of the participants on the show this year. He has hosted Masterchef India in the past.

When we asked him why he decide to take up a dance reality show, Zorawar said, "Just like food, dance is a form of art. I always enjoy taking on new challenges. Dancing isn’t something I’m even remotely familiar with, but I do know that if I put in the time and effort, I can achieve the desired result. My natural competitive spirit will take over."

He may not be a dancer, but he isn't nervous about that. "I believe that life is about learning new things and accepting new challenges. I’m happy doing what I do, but participating in a dance show is bringing myself out of my comfort zone. And, in my opinion, it requires great courage. I’m taking it all as a challenge. By the time I am out of the show, I would have learnt the art of dancing, that's what I am aiming for. Dance is one of the oldest art forms, and is a great way to express yourself," he shared

All the other contestants are actors, so does he feel left out at times? Zorawar said "Not at all. I’m representing the common man who wants to learn dance. Here, I’m not a competition to anyone, but everyone is my competition. I’m trying my best to learn as much as I can while I’m on the show."
